Tuesday this, that and the other

Hi Everybody!

Lots going on today, so I'll get started.

For Moo Mania and More, crowns (last day today!) and for
Art Journal Journey, inspired by autumn colours, I made a hybrid page. The background has been painted and collaged, and has some added digital elements ( from Foxey Squirrel, Itkupilli and Dezina World). The lady on the left is kissing a frog - I wonder what will happen next?

At Tag Tuesday our theme is 'Hand lettered'. In view of the events in Paris I made a simple tag with the word 'Peace', and wrote 'Shalom' underneath it.

Today is half time at 'Make a scene' at TIOT. For this and for
Elisabeth's 'T stands for Tuesday, I made a scene, and would like to welcome all the T Gang to take a seat and enjoy a drink. The hybrid page has been made from many elements - the background photo is from one of the beautiful old buildings in London. The bird heads and the seated lady are from Itkupilli, as is the golden screen. The statue is taken from a photo made a few weeks back at the castle I visited near Kettwig. I digitally removed her from her photo, where she was standing in the garden, and brought her inside in the warm. She is serving a cappuccino from Café Burghof. The 2 girls standing at the back (My Mum as a child and Erika, a distant relative) have also been released from their photos, and are standing there wondering what is going on. I also added the lettering. The cherub at the front usually sits on my window ledge.

Here the originals:

Found these nice grungy, rusty and mossy bits today:

On my walk through the town yesterday I took pictures of the nicely decorated shop windows with reflections of the houses opposite:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

The leaves are falling fast

Hi Everybody!
Hope you have had a good weekend.

For Art Journal Journey, inspired by autumn colours, I have an A3 mixed media page. The centre part has a background which was collaged and painted. I added David, the leaves and other images digitally. Then I added it to a brush-wipe page, which I darkened a bit to fit the colour scheme. I added the birds, clock and cogs with stencils, and wrote the text by hand. I thought it would be good to show this one before the last of the leaves fall!

For 99 faces I have a hybrid face. The face is my drawing, and has been added to a painted and collaged background, which I embellished with a brush. The bird and sun are my photos.

Today was cloudy and  windy, but not cold:

It was extremely windy along the Rhine, but I enjoyed my walk.
The canon is not used these days.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Autumn face

Hi Everybody!

Hope your weekend is going well.

I am still in shock after the awful happenings in Paris, and
my thoughts are with all who lost loved ones
and those who are struggling for their lives in hospital.

For Art Journal Journey, inspired by the colours of autumn, 99 faces, and
Kim Dellow's Show your face I made an A3 mixed media page. The background was painted with acrylics in warm colours and then stamped. I drew the face with black ink, and added some of my natural leaves embossed with Utee gold. I sprinkled a few golden stars  down one side.

Today we had a lovely sunrise, but after that it was mostly cold, grey and windy.

Have a good day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

One face for several challenges!

Hi Everybody!

Happy weekend!

For Art Journal Journey, inspired by autumn colours, 99 faces and Kim's show your face I have another journal page. The background was hand painted and collaged,  then digitally  altered with some brushes. The head was drawn with black India ink.

This project is an expression of my sadness and horror at what happened in Paris yesterday:

This week I had to go into Düsseldorf, so seized the opportunity to walk over the bridge back to 'my' side of town. I always enjoy the views of the Altstadt....

....but I am always happy to get back here, where the air is fresher and the grass is greener:

This beautiful spider's web was hanging in front of a decaying tree stump, it looks like tatty lace curtains.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
