A face, some doors and more

Hi Everybody!

Today has flown by, the time just disappeared. Hope your weekend is going well!

For Art Journal Journey, architecture, 49 Faces, and Kim Dellow's Show your face I made a stony faced lady on an A3 page. I drew the face with black India ink, coloured it with water-colours, and stamped the masonry bits and other things with Archival black ink. I used some gold ink for the roofs of the castle over her eye. The birds were made with a Dina Wakley stencil.

And this one was HUGE.

The fungi growing by the stream looked like little pancakes:

The bushes are hanging full of berries, the birds will have plenty to eat.

A building, a cat and this and that

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy it!

For Art Journal Journey, architecture, I have another A3 mixed media collage page. The photo is in the middle is from a house with a workshop somewhere in London. I painted the edges using my large and scratchy brush - which gives such a nice texture - using matching colours. I gave the photo a coat of mod podge mixed with some very diluted colours.
The quote is from Julia Norman.

Today we had another beautiful golden October day.

The moon at midday

My shadow accompanied me again and had its head in the river.

Love this little still life which is exactly as a I found it:

I was so intent on watching the seagull that I stepped into the water and got wet feet:

The bottle top art work has changed in the past 2 days - can you spot the differences?

The crows have found themselves a wonderful vantage point on top of the spire:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Faces and famous buildings

Hi Everybody!

I have another A3 mixed media  journal page for Art Journal Journey, architecture. The background was a brush-wipe page. I collaged the lady - an image from one of my old magazines from 1899, printed onto book paper and fussy cut. Then I used lots of stamps to decorate her hat, and I am sure you will recognise the buildings. I embellished her hat with a flourish and some flowers. and added a quote from Sir Winston Churchill.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin.

And I am joining in with Elizabeth's '2nd on the 2nd', which is a second look at an older post. I chose this journal page which is a copy of Modigliani's Maude Abrantes, made for a challenge some months back. It was worked with water colours and pastels for the face, and acrylics, brushos and pastels for the background. I am linking to 49 Faces and Kim Dellow's Friday show your face.

I love the autumn leaves:

Today started out with wonderful colours and Venus, the morning star:

And some architecture from here:
