This, that and the other

Hi Everybody!

There's lots going on today, so I'll get started straightaway.

At Try it on Tuesday we have a new challenge, use metal. As always, projects of all sorts are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to link up to us, so hope to see you there! I made a 8" tag from corrugated card, painted white, and embossed with Frantage antique white. I collaged some tiny scraps of old letters and varnished them. Then I added different metallic effects with gilding flakes in various colours. The leaves are real autumn leaves, coated with embossing ink and embossed with Utee gold enamel. I added some flowers and a butterfly as further embellishments.

For Art Journal Journey, through my window, and 49 Faces I made an A3 page using 'my' head with a window put into it. I drew the light-bulb and used India inks to colour the face etc. To finish it off I added some  yellow spray for the light.

At Tag Tuesday our theme this week is white space.  I decided to make a black and white, shaped cow tag - it has lots of white spaces. I added some googly eyes and a bell - finished.

And Tuesday is also time for Elisabeth's T stands for Tuesday
group meeting. I wanted to bake a special cake for this week, but never got around to it - sorry. But I sacrificed myself and went into a Café for my fave drink, cappuccino, and a slice of Raspberry cheese cake.   I saved the cake for you, so please help yourselves and have a taste.

This is the window of the cafe/restaurant at the old ferry here. You can sit inside and look out at the river, or sit outside on the patio or in the beer garden. The Ferry and restaurant have been there since 1392, although it does seem to have been modernised a little bit. I loved the photos of the windows, because you can see the Rhine reflected in them, as well as the interior.

The reflections make it look rather surreal.

Have a great day you all, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by again!

Marilyn in the window

Hi Everybody!

Quick post today, time ran so quickly I couldn't catch up.

For Art Journal Journey, Through my window, and 49 faces  I made an A3 page showing Marilyn in the window. Marilyn has been stenciled onto white paper, fussy  cut and collaged onto a stamped background - wanted it to look like wall-paper, and the window frame has been collaged over her. The butterflies were stenciled, as were the bricks in the wall. The Banksy stamp is from Bee Crafty.

Today we had a book and art market on Market Street:

There was a fête at the Diakonie with lots of colourful stalls selling hand made things, flea-market stuff and lots of food

And last but not least some stained glass windows from the Basilica.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks for coming by!

People in the window

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
For Art Journal Journey, through my window, I made an A3 mixed media page with Alfred Hitchcock and Cary Grant in the window. The birds were added with Dina Wakley's stencil. I am sure you all remember those wonderful films like Psycho and The Birds?

And I have another ice parlour sketch. This time I drew a very naughty little boy, who was not only annoying his Dad but everyone else as well...
I am linking to 49 faces.

I climbed right up to the top of the castle ruins to enjoy the view out of the windows. They needed good views in all directions, not only to be able to defend themselves, but to stop ships or carts passing by and charge them taxes....

The sky colours were beautiful this morning, although we never saw the sun, which hid itself behind thick clouds all day.

And last but not least, a window to Jerusalem, as today at sunset is the beginning of the Jewish New Year, 5776, Rosch Haschanah.
I would like to wish a good new year to all my Jewish friends.

(painted with acrylics on a painting board, I am also linking to Moo Mania and More, Landscapes)

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
