A face, an owl and flowers

Hi Everybody!
We had a lot of storms here in the past few days, and I'm happy to say things have quietened down again today.

A new challenge is starting today at Moo Mania and More.
Black and White. I hope lots of you will join us with your black and white creations. Projects of all formats are allowed, and you have two weeks to link your work.

I made a large owl on an A3 page using a black India Ink pen.
I gave it clock eyes to fit in with our challenge at
Art Journal Journey, time. The flourishes and branch were stenciled.

Recently I made this quick sketch of a lady sitting in the ice parlour. She sat very still, and just moved her eyes right and left, right and left - perhaps she was looking for someone.

I made three digital versions of my sketch, I think I like the last one best.

I am linking to our 49 faces challenge

The photos were taken at the weekend, today I spent my time at the dentist's!

This crow had a lot of white feathers:

I wonder if King Arthur owns the ship?

We had a rather pale sunrise today, but it was good to see the sun again after the storm.

I love the wild flowers which grow along the Rhine:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Faces, coffee and cupcakes

Hi Everybody!

Hope your day is going well!

Our theme this week at Tag Tuesday is Jewellery, and so I made a face on a large (8") tag and adorned her. I drew the face, stenciled the diamonds with worn Lipstick DI, and used the same ink to shade the edges and paint the face. I added some pearls for her jewelry, a rub on rose, and some ribbons and fibres for a quick and elegant hairdo. I am also linking to our 49 Faces challenge,  to
Moo Mania and More, embellishments, and to Kim Dellow's Friday show your face fun.

And as today is time for Elisabeth's  T stands for Tuesday, I will show you how I like to enjoy my coffee:

And I have a little beginner's tutorial for you - how to eat a chocolate cupcake.

Pick it up. Smell the chocolate. Prepare yourself.

Put it on a plate and look at it from all angles

Take off the paper wrapping

Add a dollop of cream (ice-cream is a good alternative, or take both!)

Start eating and savour the lovely, chocolaty taste

Keep going, you're getting there:

Nearly done!

You can do it!

Task completed! Well done!

And remember, every time you bite or cut a piece off from cakes, cookies and chocolate, half of the calories fall out....

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Take time

Hi Everybody!

The weekend is over and it's time for a new week - have a good one!
And it's also time for another journal page for 'Time' at Art Journal Journey

I made a mixed media piece with drawing and stenciling on an A3 background painted with Gesso. I used another of my new stencils for the flowers and flourishes.  This time I used colours which are reminiscent of Autumn.
I am also linking to Kim Dellow's show your face, a nice place to show faces and see new ones, and to our 49 Faces Challenge.

Yesterday I showed the photos of the white cattle. After I had visited them I walked further along the Max Clarenbach Path (he was a German painter) and enjoyed seeing the gates and stairs leading to hidden gardens:

I love the alcoves in the walls, perhaps they were made for statues?

At the end of the path you can see the old Church to the right, Max Clarenbach used to live next to it.

The plaque is on the wall of the pub where he used to go for his drink every evening:

I am sure he will have taken this walk along the Rhine path, too:

And back in our little place the horses were enjoying being on the meadow.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
