Time makes....

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well!

It's hot and sunny here, and they have promised us temps of up to40° till the weekend, and then storms....

For Art Journal Journey, Time, I have another journal page. I made a collaged journal page, which I did not really like, so I scanned it and made some digital alterations before printing it out. I placed it on an A3 page, and painted the edges with blues and purples to pick out the colours in the page. The quote is from Euripides, a famous dramatist in classical Greek of the 5th century BC, 'Love makes time pass; Time makes love pass'.

On my walk today I went down the river, which means towards Holland and the sea. (Up river would be going towards the source of the Rhine in Switzerland)

This is one of the remaining kilometer stones, which Napoleon had placed every kilometer along the Rhine. Very few remain today, I always wonder whose garden they landed in....It shows the distances to Basel and Rotterdam, and to the border with Holland.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Time like an ever rolling stream

Hi Everybody!

The day started off very stormy here, with the sun battling its way through storm clouds, making a glorious sky with wonderful colours.

For Art Journal Journey, time, I was inspired by a hymn written by Isaac Watts in 1719, a paraphrase of Psalm 90. We used to sing it at school and I imagined the 'sons' floating away with the water.... My page is surely influenced by the Rhine, the meadows and the wonderful sunrises I see nearly every day. The A3 background was painted with gesso and acrylic paints, and I used a marker to divide the colours. The people floating away have been kept very shadowy, I used stencils from Dina Wakley and Jessica Sporn with a transparent grey.

And here some pictures of the ever changing sky this morning, all taken in less than half an hour:

And the rest of the day it rained and rained and rained, but the air was clean and fresh, and I enjoyed my umbrella walk!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

More challenges

Hi Everybody!

Today we have a new challenge starting at TIOT,
'Use a stencil'
As always, projects of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to get creative and link your work.  There are lots of great examples on our blog to inspire you! My journal page is also meant for 'Time' at Art Journal Journey.
I used one of my own backgrounds which I scanned and printed and placed on an A3 page. I used pan pastels in yellow and red to colour the edges of the paper. I used 2 different alpha stencils for the lettering, and one of Dina Wakley's people for the floating man, who I painted in white. The dragonflies and clock were stamped. I used a die cut flourish, painted and sparkled with Stickles,  but used it first as a stencil which I outlined with a white Signo pen before gluing it to the page. The butterfly was in my stash, and fussy cut before fixing it to the page.

Our challenge at Tag Tuesday is correspondence. I made a quick tag with some stamping and Mr Umbrella Man, who has been dressed in postage stamp look, the newest trend.

Today I am showing the rest of the photos from my Sunday walk.
This Egyptian goose was having a doze in the sunshine:

I walked back through the fields

The ramshackle shed is still standing:

And the brown cows were not interested in anything apart from grazing and chewing the cud:

I love how the apples are growing over the wall here:

The tree mushrooms are getting bigger and bigger:

The moon was shining bright again in the dark sky

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
