This and that for Wednesday

Hi Everybody!

I had another busy day, with 2 doctor's appointments, one of which included getting an abscess on my finger sliced open and drained. And in case any of you are wondering if it hurt - yes, it did. Tomorrow it will surely feel better!

And here is my daily collage for Art Journal Journey. I used scraps of printed paper from an old Sears and Roebuck catalogue from the 1890s, scraps of cardboard, ribbon, washi tape, printed images, and some hand-painted and stamped scraps. They were first glued to the kraft paper and then stitched.

And as today, Tuesday, the first Chanukah candle gets lit, here are 2 cards I made using images from Gecko Galz. Happy Chanukah to all friends who celebrate it!

I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge, anything goes

My balcony was feeding ground for a lot of feathered friends again.

Wonder what this one's looking at?

This dancing wild-goose was up at the top of the castle-ruins this morning:

I have 2 different pigeons visiting now:

And these 2 sneaked up and wanted to have their photos taken, too, I think they get jealous!

Have a great day, whatever you are up to, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Collage and angels

Hi Everybody!

Where does the time go? It always seems to fly, but at this time of year the days seem to shrink. I had a busy day with shopping, tidying up my rather chaotic arty-kitchen, and visitors. My Student came for coaching in philosophy, as she has to write an exam tomorrow about Plato's knowledge theory. Later her Mum came to 'play' - that means crafting, of course, so the day went by very quickly.

For Art Journal Journey I have another collage - what else? The background is a page which was started months ago and should have been a Frida Kahlo page, but never got finished, so I added another layer of paper scraps - DP, hand-painted papers, old letters, cardboard and lace, a badge and some butterflies. I enjoyed making this, and was pleased that the half finished page wasn't wasted.

At Tag Tuesday our theme is Christmas angels. These  3D tags are ones which I made last year, and I don't know if I showed them or not. Anyway, here they are (again). I didn't have time today for new ones, and these ones fit the bill perfectly!

I am also linking to Simon's Monday Challenge, anything goes.

The photos were taken on my Sunday twilight walk.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Collage, winter sunshine and birds.

Hi Everybody!

We had another very cold day, but the sun shone all day, so I enjoyed it, and spent a lot of time outside, visiting my fave places, and of course, the ducks and geese.

For Susi's wonderful Art Journal Journey I have another collage from my giant journal. The background has once again been made with kraft paper painted with gesso. I used scraps of DP, painted paper, book paper and antique linen. They were glued and then stitched. The unicorn is a stamp (LaBlanche) which has been stamped onto card, embossed and fussy cut. A few pieces of washi tape rounded it off.

My feathered visitors feasted on my balcony again:

This little bird, I don't know what it is, was a new visitor today. The robin tried to chase him away, but he just ignored the little bully and carried on with his breakfast.

This thrush was also a new visitor.

Ma walk today took me to Kalkum, a beautiful village at any time of the year.

As always I had fun with the play of light and the reflections on the water:

My shadow walked in front of me:

I met lots of my feathered friends again:

In the afternoon I went for my walk along the Rhine and watched the sun setting.
The wild geese were flying home:

All in all a lovely day.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Collage, feathered creatures and more:

Hi Everybody!

We had quieter weather here today, still very cold, but no rain, and the awful wind had blown over, too. They have forecasted more storms for the coming week, so it will keep us on our toes.

For Art Journal Journey I have another collage to share. I worked on kraft paper, which I gave a quick coat of gesso. This time I added paper in shades of red and gold, which were first glued and then sewed. I added a TH tree die-cut. The text reads 'Etz Hachayim' - Tree of Life.

These are the little altered note books I made yesterday. I used double sided DP. You can make 3 covers from one 12x12" sheet.

My jay was the first visitor this morning, and I caught him peeking round the cactus to see if I was watching....

The pigeon is very shy, but managed to have a meal before being chased away by the robin....

I went out for a twilight walk, the lights all look really pretty:

My friend Narda sent me this joke today:
