T sTands for Tag Tuesday and more

Hi Everybody!

Hope you weekend was good! Here it was warm and stormy, and some places got huge amounts of rain. The rain fell there where people didn't need rain. We need it badly here, so it passed us by, we just got a few drops! But today it's cooler and the air feels fresher, so at least that's something!

This evening we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday. Our wonderful Wendy has made some beautiful and inspirational tags to get you going,  so hope to see lots of people joining in. As always, you have 2 weeks to join in, and tags of all formats are welcome.

I used a scrap from one of my boxes. It's card cut from an Amazon envelope and which I had evidently painted with left over colours some time in the past. I just added the cut-out feathers and stars and some silver-white twine:

This evening we are also beginning Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link parTy, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies who visit here. First I have some shop window photos:

And these are from a past visit to a bakery, I'm going out again this week, so that will be fun!

And some photos from my balcony:

And from my walks:

The accordion player always sits there in  nice weather and plays:

I saw these wonderful sneakers in the window of the bike shop, and I would love to add them to my collection, but firstly, I have more than enough, and secondly, they are too expensive. Isn't there a song, 'You can't have everything!' And you can see my reflection, too:

This is the path I usually take down to the Rhine:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy!
Here it's hot and sunny, and there will probably be storms later on, so I hope we might get some much needed rain!

I have been practising my usual routine, playing with scraps and going walking, with a sprinkle of unfortunately necessary housew**k in between. Yesterday evening I watched a film on TV, so did 7 minute cleaning spots when the adverts came, and managed to get the place (more or less) clean in those times. Today I am planning on cleaning the windows, at least if it doesn't storm or rain....

This huge page (A3) started out as an underlay page on which I try things out, and was then collaged. Sorry, the first photo is a bit fuzzy:

This is how it started out:

Collaged, but not yet sewn:

With lots of added sewing:

I am linking to Halle's stitch in time challenge at AJJ.

Some pics from my walks. I love standing at the end of the main street and watching ships go by. Reminds me of my childhood in London near the docks:

The topless mill:

A wonderful name - this ship goes past here very often:

Lavender growing out of the wall:

Have a great weekend, take care and
thanks a lot for coming by!

TGIF

Hi Everybody!

Although I've been a pensioner for many years I'm still happy when Friday comes around, it seems to be a built in feeling left over from school,  study and working days.

Today I have a piece to share for AJJ, a stitch in time. It is a double page in my second scrap journal, which I painted with some left-over paint some weeks back, so I added some bits and bobs and used it. I stenciled the diamonds and the other blobs with Adirondack espresso ink, glued on the squares of paper and the clock from the scrap heap and then the flowers and the little girls, whose dresses I coloured. The rub-on flowers have been in my possession for many years, and still worked well :

For Michele's dance challenge at Tag Tuesday I have used a tag which was also in one of the scrap boxes. It already had the structure paste and colour on it. I sewed the ballerina a dress from another scrap found in my boxes, added some little embellishments and the tag was finished:

I am also linking to PPF

Some walking and balcony photos from the past couple of weeks:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
