T sTands for a new challenge aT TioT

Hi Everybody!


Today we are beginning a new challenge at TIOT - cut it out.
You are requested to use at least one die cut or objects which have been fussy cut. As always, you have 2 weeks to link to us, and projects of all formats are welcome.
For my piece I fussy cut some leaves from a sheet of painted paper left over from another project. I used some home made stencils to draw leaves in various sizes and then cut them out. I embossed the leaves with various metallic embossing powders. I made more leaves than I needed so another leafy project will be in the making soon. I sewed the leaves to the background, but left the edges free so that the leaves curl a bit.
I used an A3 sheet of blue-grey heavy paper, which I decorated in wild honey and salty ocean distress oxides using various stencils. I outlined all of the stenciled patterns with a black fine-liner and added a quote:

Sunday this and that

Hi Everybody!

I have a hybrid piece for Mia's flowers challenge at AJJ. The grungy background is a photo of the lid of a plastic box - I use these lids as palettes for mixing colours. The images are from Mischief Circus, me  and Serif. Way back in the 1980s my dog Scruffy had puppies. We weren't sure how Kitty would react to the birth and little ones. But she was absolutely amazing. She stayed by Scruffy during the birth, comforted her, helped lick the babies clean, and in the following weeks was a constantly devoted nursemaid. She picked the puppies up in her mouth and carried them back if they strayed too far from their mum, and licked them clean as if they were her own babies. It was astonishing and moving to watch. Even when they were getting boisterous, she never lost her patience with them. I was lucky to have such wonderful pets:

Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend -enjoy!

Today I have 2 hybrid tags for Pinky's 'animals' challenge at Tag Tuesday

I couldn't make up my mind, so made a masculine dog tag and a feminine cat tag - something for everybody! I used elements from Mischief Circus, Serif and me:

The war memorial is just outside the castle gates, and a fave spot of the birds, here a nice blackbird:

The blackbird was looking up to the basilica:

After I had had a little break:

I went down to the beach underneath the ruins. Somebody had been playing:

I decided to leave a greeting for the world:

The stones which crashed down from the ruins during the canon-ball attack are everywhere. You can see that some have been cut and were evidently part of columns or door-frames:

Some people had been playing here and built a little dam:

And the stones make good seats for a little rest:

Time to leave the remains of the past and to return to the present:
