T sTands for Time aT The flea-markeT

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week has started well. It's cloudy and windy here, so not an auspicious start for all of the carnival fans going to the big parades today, but perhaps it will soon get better. I helped a neighbour sew her dress, so have spent a lot of time surrounded by pink netting, beaded sheers and shiny satin, but we did get finished in the end, so that's the main thing.

On the 5th of each month we start a new challenge at More Mixed Media. I will not have time tomorrow, so am showing my DT piece today. Our themes are always anything mixed media goes, this time with optional green, so hope to see some of you joining in. I used an A3 page, painted with blue and green, collaged with some paper and napkin scraps, and stenciled in violet using stencils from Dina Wakley, CWS, unknown and me. The head was drawn using 'my' head. I added the quote and highlights on the flowers with white pen. I know I have used my head and the little Dina Wakley heads many times, but I like them:

And you still have a week to join in the 'my fave stamp' challenge at
Here I have used two of my self carved stamps on a digital background from Serif:

Tuesday is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, so here a warm welcome to all of the ladies who visit here. My photos are from my fave ice parlour, 'Boutique', which I visit very often for my coffees. I was lucky to get some pics early in the day when  not many people were there:

On Saturday I visited a HUGE flea-market with my friend N. It's on the other side of Düsseldorf, so we traveled on 2 trams to get there, together with lots of people who were wearing carnival costumes as they were heading into town to have a good time. The market has a large outdoor area, selling everything, including food, fruit and veggies and flowers, as well as the usual flea-market items:

There is a huge permanent 'tent' in the middle, with a cafe, antiques, live music and lots of friendly people:

Flamenco music:

I asked this lovely old lady, dressed in pink if I could take a photo for my blog and she was happy to agree. Here she's saying 'Helau' - the 'war-cry' of the carnival in Düsseldorf:

And of course, we had cappuccino. Before that we ate fried fish from one of the booths outside, but I was so hungry I forgot all about taking a photo....

Hope you enjoyed your tour around the flea-market!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

The beginning of March has inspired the weather to be wild and windy, but I'm hopeful that spring will soon be back again!

For Joan's challenge at Tag Tuesday, my fave stamp. I have another tag, made using backgrounds from Serif:

And I have an older, mixed media collaged piece to share with
Paint Party Friday  and Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd:

Some photos from my walks and sunrises this week:

Tulips in the vase again:

And a very moody sun this morning:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
