Sunrise, full moon and everything between

Hi Everybody!
As always, time is flying, and I  have the feeling that I never get everything I would like to done. On the other hand, the next day always comes with new chances. We had good weather today so I had a nice, long walk this morning and visited a friend this afternoon. In between I even got some crafting done. It was just the housework that had to be put off for another day....

I had fun making a corn dolly for a tag for our autumn / Halloween challenge at Tag Tuesday. In pre-Christian times people believed that the corn (grain) spirits had no place to go after the crops had been harvested, and corn dollies, also called corn mothers  were made to appease them. I used to make them with the kids at school when I was teaching in England, and decided to make an autumn tag with one. The dolly was made of straw, given plaited hair and arms, and decorated with some ears of grain and flowers. The tag is 10", made from recycled Amazon packaging onto which I sewed some mirri-card:

And I have another journal spread to share:

I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin, and to Paper-Babe challenge blog, stars.

I love the early morning time:

Autumn and Halloween

Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and I am hosting. My theme is autumn / Halloween, so very seasonal, and I hope this will inspire some people to join in. I have 2 tags to start off. The first one was made using a piece of vintage linen, which I fringed, an image from Gecko Galz and some gold corrugated card, all of which I sewed together. I added the TH paper doll and sat her in the tree. The embellishments are natural bits and bobs gathered from the tree in front of our house, a TH sentiment and some fancy ribbons:

The second tag is a square one, cut from some DP I had in my stash. I sewed an acetate overlay onto it. Once again I decorated with nature materials and scraps of netting and hessian, all tied together with straw. The little boy has wings made from seed pods and is sitting on 2 leaves cut from hand-painted paper I used the same ribbon as for the first tag:

Tuesday is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the ladies of the T Gang. I visited my friend N, and we enjoyed coffee and raspberry cake:

Today I am sharing more photos from last week's trip to South Park:

These dark red flowers are called cocoa plants - and they really do smell like chocolate!

Have a great day, Take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
