Along the shore

Hi Everybody!

Another week is flying by, and the weekend is almost upon us.
For Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, and for
Simon Monday Challenge, Nautical I made a mixed
media canvas (12 x 9"). The image in the centre was
done with a mod-podge transfer. When it was rubbed free of
paper I used some soft structure paste, roughed up with a spatula,
to make the surrounding - I wanted it to look like an
old wall. I kept it very simple, painting with  Deco art acrylics in Titan buff
and a little brown, and then shading with some of my home-made
vintage brown ink. I added the shells and string using silicone glue.
I love the grungy look of the transfer as opposed to the crisper
line you get from just gluing a picture down.

I am also linking to Creative Artiste and Eclectic Ellapu,
both anything goes

Now I am continuing with our trip to 'the other side'.
The ducks welcomed us before we started our walk along the shore:

The cyclists were waiting on the ramp for the next ferry:

We saw lots of boats, large and small along the river:

Fun to look over to 'our' side:

Tractors at the camping place to help get the caravans etc
positioned:

This 'camping barrel' can be rented for a holiday:

The camping grounds are beautifully kept:

 Nomen est omen:

The next part of the story  will take us to crocodile land!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Summer Queen.

Hi Everybody!

For Paint Party Friday I have another collaged, mixed media piece,
about A4 size. I did lots of sewing, adding scraps that were flying about
on my sewing table. The face is a stamp from LaBlanche, stamped onto
canvas collaged with old paper. For the BG I used corrugated
cardboard, freshly peeled and picked, and then a layer of tyvek,
which was painted, burnt and bubbled. I have called it
'Queen of the summer'

I also made a hybrid version with a quote from Mahatma Gandhi
and am linking to Jo's 'Poetry in Motion' challenge

For the use your scraps challenge at Tag Tuesday
I have another scrappy mixed media tag - how to clear your table
 without really trying!

Yesterday my buddy G and I went on a little outing
to the other side of the Rhine. First we had to wait for the Ferry,
which was still at the other side:

Here it comes:

Then we drove on. The signs tell you to put the brakes on!

This sign tells people to let cars off first - before bikes and pedestrians:

Another look back at 'our' side:

Then we were off up the ramp to our 'adventures'

Watching the ferry sail away:

Tomorrow I will show more photos, including a sharp-toothed
crocodile we met along the way....

The postcard draw from Tuesday's blog was won by  Kathyinozarks.
I also picked a second name, so another card will be going to
  Lisa Isabella Russo. Congratulations! Please
send me your snail-mail addies via the contact link .

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
