This and that and some more

Hi Everybody!

In the past couple of weeks I have been re-creating some pieces
for my family scrapbook. I rashly gave some pages
away last year, so have been redoing them from
photo. Here I have a mixed media 8x8" piece using
a substrate of partly peeled, painted, stamped
and collaged cardboard. The photo is Erika, and I don't
know why she looks rather green here, as it is
sepia - possibly just the light reflecting on the glass. I
sewed all the layers together. The fountain pen
has been stamped, fussy cut and given a coat
of glossy accents.
I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva
and Kristin, to Art Journal Journey, Gill' s theme of
grunge and elegance, and to Creative Artiste Mixed Media.

I discovered this 'street art' from young artists on my
way to the clinic:

And here are some more photos of the exhibition in
the old gasometer in Oberhausen (Ruhr Valley)

Here's my friend Miss N adding to the photos:

More photos to follow!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Mid week madness

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. For Gill's theme of elegance
and grunge at Art Journal Journey
I made a digital piece, using a photo
of my Great Auntie Fanny on a grungy, layered background.
I used images from Mischief Circus, Serif and me.
I am also linking to Digitally made challenges,
anything goes.

Yesterday we visited the old gasometer in Oberhausen. It has a fantastic,
steampunky space inside - that alone was exciting, but
the exhibition we saw inside was even better.

This climbing park is next door to it, a sort
of adventure playground for wannabe
Tarzans and Janes. And no, I did not try anything!

Let's go nearer to the exhibition:

Thomas Baumgärtel, the banana sprayer from Cologne has
left his mark on the entrance door:

Looking up from bottom to top:

Inside there is a huge space, dark, and mysteriously
illuminated, and huge photos for the exhibition
'Wonders of nature'

In my next posts I will be showing you much more....

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Tuesday This and ThaT

Hi Everybody!

It's Tuesday again, so lots to do here!

At Tag Tuesday we are starting a new challenge, I am hosting,
and this time it's 'anything goes', so hope to see
you linking to us. Projects of all formats are
welcome!
I made a 12"mixed media tag with many
layers, and, what a surprise, I chose coffee for
my first theme, as it also fits to Elizabeth's
T Stands for Tuesday, and I would like to extend
a warm welcome to all of the T Gang.
I used stencils to make the cups, and painted them
with blue/green metallic paint from Vivacolor. The
colour changes depending on the light.
I sewed the various layers together.
The text is from a coffee stamp set,
the highlights were added with a Sakura pen:

The table cloth also fits to TSFT. It's one of the many I embroidered
as a kid for my Great Aunt. After she died, I got them back,
and they have been in a box for years, where I rediscovered
them yesterday. It's much too large for my table, so I had to
spread it out on the floor.

I would also like to remind you that you still have a week to
join in our 'Little things mean a lot' challenge at

The paintings were taken at the museum here in our
little town, all painted by women who live here:

Here the artist, Helga Stender, allowed me to take
pictures of her with her paintings, which I liked very much:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
