Bad Hair Day

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote, I have a quick page I made by stenciling over a red and black brush wipe page with DI and adding a quote, quick and easy on a very busy day. I think the poor chappie is suffering from the heat.

It's Tuesday again, which means, of course, that it's Tag Tuesday.

Our theme this week is 'Away with the fairies'.
I used a flower fairy image, placed on a background made with a punch, over a piece of floral cardboard from some packaging. I added a fairy dog with butterfly wings and some embellishments. I can't pretend to be happy with the tag, but I never had time to start on another one - that's what comes of leaving things till the last minute!

I made this little heart recently for a friend. I covered a polystyrene heart with tissue paper. The sentiment was stamped with archival black and embossed, and I found a fitting stamp in my stamp box. I tied it all up with string and added a home made paper bead. A whole group of us made different hearts to support a friend here who is going through a bad patch just now.

Tomorrow we have a new challenge starting at MOO Mania and More
so please come by and read all about it!

The day started off with a beautiful sky and sunrise

I went down to the Rhine for my walk

This plane was coming in low over the trees:

I enjoyed crunching through the shingle and climbing over the stones:

The cormorant was keeping watch, as always

I made some art on the beach, and got asked by a passer by if I wasn't too old for such things, so I said, 'No!'

The Raven went for a paddle in the Rhine and got quacked at by the duck who evidently thought it was his territory:

All in all a most enjoyable walk.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by

A head, a heart and some geese

Hi Everybody!

Hope you had a good Sunday. Here it was sunny but cool, and wonderful for walking, which I really enjoyed.

For Art Journal Journey, Favourite poems and quotes, I made a page with a quote from Nelson Mandela. The background has been made with brushos over wet gesso. I added some stenciling when it was dry. The head is once again one of my own stencils, the heart is from a stencil that the lovely Teresa sent me, together with other stencils with alphas and basic shapes. The clockwork pieces in the head are from a Viva-color stencil. I used a a black Indian ink pen for the outlines and text.

The sun and I both rose at the same time this morning; the sun definitely looked better than I did!

My walk led me to Schloss Kalkum to feed the ducks and geese.
The Egyptian wild geese have young ones, and were very alert and rather hissy today!

The goslings (8 altogether) were swimming in the murky water of the moat.

This one tried to peck my jeans, but I got rid of her by throwing a large handful of grains.

The  gardens look beautiful even though they are rather neglected

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Gratitude and blossoms

Hi Everybody!
Just a short post today, I need to get to bed!

For Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote, I have another journal page to share: This was a page I had used while distressing the edges of other projects. You can even see my head on it! I  glued the image onto it, added some stenciling and the quote, and that was it. I am also linking to Moo Mania and More

Some sunny pictures from today:

Hope you have a sunny Sunday! Take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Sky, clouds and spring flowers

Hi Everybody!

Our day here was much cooler than it has been, but mostly dry and sunny, so good weather for walking.

For Art Journal Journey, Favourite poem or quote, I have a journal page made with brushos sprinkled onto wet gesso. When it was dry, I added more colours with Gelatos, especially the yellow in the middle. I drew in the birds with a black gel pen, and outlined the horizon and trees etc with a charcoal pencil. As it reminded me of the stormy clouds we had here recently, I added the verse from the Book of Job. A friend came over this evening, and said she can see a woman - perhaps an angel? on the left side of the clouds, and then she found 2 others on the right. Can you see them too?

Here are the real clouds from this morning:

Here are some of my balcony flowers, which look better now that I have cleaned and scrubbed my balcony ready for the good weather season:

The path through the lakes:

Hedge flowers:

I was fascinated by the branches which grow through the fence at several places:

The blossoming tree is beside the stream near here:

I love spring!

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
