Hi Everybody!
Today has flown by, the time just disappeared. Hope your weekend is going well!
For Art Journal Journey, architecture, 49 Faces, and Kim Dellow's Show your face I made a stony faced lady on an A3 page. I drew the face with black India ink, coloured it with water-colours, and stamped the masonry bits and other things with Archival black ink. I used some gold ink for the roofs of the castle over her eye. The birds were made with a Dina Wakley stencil.

And this one was HUGE.
The fungi growing by the stream looked like little pancakes:
The bushes are hanging full of berries, the birds will have plenty to eat.

As always, I'm impressed with the way you draw your faces. Using the current AJJ theme makes the face even more interesting, especially the buildings. I so enjoy how you take these challenges and make them your own. And including a single stamp (the Eiffel Tower) among the flowers was lovely.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your photos, and today's were special because of the big, big boats on the Rhine. I learned that it is the busiest river in the world for commerce. Puts our Mississippi to shame. It's great that you live so close and can walk there to take photos. Have a great Sunday and enjoy the rest of your weekend, dear.
Lovely page for the challenges, great how you fit in the architectural details. Those mushrooms do so look like pancakes. Glad the birds will have lots of berries.

DeleteI looked it up, the red ones are hawthorn, and are used in herbal medicine, the blue ones are a sort of privet and are poisonous for humans.

ReplyDeleteI think Light is a very pretty lady. I like how she has that stenciled hair and a cool architectural eyebrow. Very clever way to use stamps to make such cool features. Those fall views are really pretty too. What kind of berries are those? And I love the door ornaments.Nice architecture everywhere! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteYour painted face today is spectacularly beautiful, with the pinks, the lime greens and yellow, and so delicate despite her masonry and her tattooed nose. I especially like the castle towers above her eye and her masonry neck decoration.

DeleteAnother terrific and creative journal page. Love the green lips to match her eye and the series of windows with the gold caps for adornment. Wonderful fall photos with an abundance of berries in a couple of your photos, The photo of the fungi matches the type I found in our yard. Hope the following week slows down for all of us.

ReplyDeleteValerie I soften squash by microwave for 5 to 7 minutes then it peels easily for soups. I make a few cuts in the skin first. You could probably boil it for a short while with similar results if you don't have a microwave.

Buildings as eyelashes, fantastic. Nice barges. We see small tankers here most often but we have great tugboats. Love the whistles which we can hear from our house. xox
