Light and Darkness

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at

- Light and Darkness-

December is a dark and cold month in the northern hemisphere
and since thousands of years people have been celebrating
festivals which bring light into these days.
We light candles for Advent and Chanukka, put lights on the trees, light up our houses and towns with decorations, and look forward to the winter solstice – a festival celebrated by many ancient people – because it
means that the days start to get longer again.
We want you to show light on your journal pages, to show how light dispels the darkness etc.
Think of the sun, stars, moon, lanterns lighting the way, candles, the glow of the fire on a winter's evening – I am sure you will be able to come up with many ideas.
I made a mixed media/hybrid page:

Susi and I are looking forward to see your projects.

I am also linking to Paint Party Friday

This week has been very cold and frosty, but we had a lot
of sun and some beautiful dawn skies:

Yesterday Sabine visited me, and after a nice breakfast and some
crafty time we went by tram to the glass museum
and enjoyed the wonderful
objects on display:

Afterwards we went to the little Christmas market here in
Kaiserswerth, and ate some wonderful potato cakes
before walking back here for coffee and cake. I forgot to take photos at the market, I could only think of the lovely food!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New challenge at Moo Mania and More

Hi Everybody!

Today I have my traditional collage of most of the pages I
made for Art Journal Journey, Collage
(Some of them are hiding in a folder I can't find!)
It was a fun month, and on Thursday our new challenge
will  be starting, so come by and read all about it!

And at Moo Mania and More our new challenge
starts today -

-Tea and or coffee-

Bet you can guess which one I chose for my collage!
I love starting my day with a mug of frothy coffee,
and my 'happiness' mug is my fave one.
As always, you have 2 weeks to link to us,
and projects of all formats are welcome:

And here some photos from the inside of the tower - shown yesterday-
where the ship's museum is. I have lots more photos of the
great models, will show them another time:

This shows the ancient boat that was discovered here in Kaiserswerth a few years back. It is still being restored:

I loved the vaulted cellar, under the level of the Rhine:

I wonder where this leads to?

It was a bit like being in a lighthouse or windmill.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

In the Lantern

Hi Everybody!

It's Tuesday again, so it's time for
Elizabeth's T Stands For Tuesday party, and I would
like to extend a warm welcome to all the lovely  T Gang ladies.
I have one more mixed media/hybrid piece for Art Journal Journey, Susi's theme
 of collage with a twist:

And this is the tag I made for Tag Tuesday last week, our theme was
patchwork fields:

I popped into this lovely bakery for  cup of coffee, the figures in the window
move, it was fun to watch them:

And as I had time before my appointment, I went into the tower and saw the exhibits in the ship's museum there, and enjoyed another cup of coffee up in the 'lantern' under
the roof:

The views from the huge windows were wonderful in all directions:

And the cappuccino was good, too, and I remembered to take a photo
before I drank it all:

I will show the pictures of the wonderful ship's models another time.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
