Looking in and out of windows

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing you a good start in the new week!
We had a definite nip of Autumn in the air here over the weekend,
but it was great weather for walking, and for spending an afternoon at home reading.

For Art Journal Journey, through my window, and for our 49 faces challenge, I made another face in a window, and added some shutters. Sometimes I think it might be a good idea to have shutters or blinkers to shut out things we don't want to see! She was drawn with pastel chalks and India ink pens. I used some stamps from Darkroom Door for 'enter here' and 'look within'. I am also linking to
Kim Dellow's Art it Friday

The horses were  out enjoying the fresh air when I passed the riding stables:

 The castle ravens

I visited Schloss Kalkum and saw that the Egyptian Geese have lots of goslings again, I didn't realise they had young ones at this time of year.

The Canada goose was helping to keep watch over the littl'uns

I love the beautiful autumn colours of their feathers:

The heron was looking for dinner in the field:

This lovely window is in a door I passed:

And this small, stained-glass window was right up under the eaves of another house:

The interior decorations shop was reflecting the opposite side of the street:

And the wonderful window decoration in the bicycle shop - I just love this one!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. So how many faces are you at now? You must be in the double digits I would think. Today's face came out really well. She reminds me a little bit of an o;d fashion doll- the kind with painted red cheeks. And I agree, of all the windows the bicycle shop one is my favorite too. Hope your week is starting off in a good way!

  9. As always, I found your face refreshing. It was fun how you found a way to incorporate so many challenges, too.

I really enjoyed the photos, and had never seen an Egyptian goose before, nor had any idea how beautiful their feathers are. Lovely, lovely photos.

  16. Beautiful fall colours in your journal page and in your photos too. The Egyptian geese are so different from the Canadian which we have here in Idaho. The horses are beautiful and the window photos exceptional. It is a fall day here but should warm up mid week. Hubby has a birthday today so it is a day to celebrate.

    Hugs,
    C

  18. I agree, shutters to close off the world is sometimes necessary. The good thing is that you get to choose when and you want to shut out and let in. I love your photos! I have never seen Egyptian Geese. Also like the reflection of the buildings across the street in the window.
