Thursday /Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. I have now got a nasty cold and cough on top of everything else, so I  am not a happy bunny just now. But these things shall pass - the quicker the better! Nicole isn't doing her FFO this week, but I still have faces so I am showing them. The first one is a stylish giraffe. We made something similar in a tastesr session some time back, and I have made another version of it. I will be linking to Gillena's AFFF:

And I played with some new stencils, which was fun:

Some evenings the sun peeks over the house and lights up the tree tops:

I had fun with this cat, too:

And some funnies, thinkies and pics by David Zinn:

Have a great day and a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. I hope it's only a nasty cold and not something else. Do you still test for Covid?
Your giraffe is absolutely adorable. Lovely stencils, look like fun to be had there.
Do hope the cold and cough are gone soon. Hugs Deb

  3. Good morning, Valerie: I am very sorry to hear that you have a cough and cold, but for the first time ever I think I can do you one better. Miriam and I both have COVID. We didn’t want it, no one gave us the option, it just arrived and took up residence. I hope it will leave again soon. Neither of us feels totally wiped out but we both ache from head to toe and have a dry cough that enables us to create dissonant duets together. We had made a batch of squash soup before getting sick and it has turned out to be perfect, both as an enjoyable dinner, and eliminating the need to cook while we are feeling less than vigorous and creative. I very much agree with the sentiment about books above. Books can open a whole new world. I remember how vivid “Treasure Island” became to me when I was a child, and I have little doubt it stimulated my desire to travel. If I had known you earlier I would have enlisted you as my pirate’s wench! I went from cutlasses and cannons, walking the plank and buried treasure, however, to birds, plants and even insects. Who knows where a book may lead? I hope that we are all feeling much better very soon. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Oh no, not Covid! That's awful. I hope it will remain relatively mild and bugger off as soon as possible! Soups and stews are the best things to eat when you don't feel well, yummy! And extra reading time is always wonderful. I like to listen to books when I paint! BUT - I can tell you this, I would have been a the chief pirate on that ship, and you could have been my wench. Or boy might be more suitable.... I often dream about my books, and find myself in the middle of one of my stories, strange but somehow nice! I hope very much that you will soon both be Covid free and up and about again. Hugs xxxxxxxxxx

  4. I find your art work so cheerful and uplifting. I love your use of color. The eyelashes on the giraffe are so cute and I love how you use so many geometrics. It makes me want to draw and paint but then I remember that I really lack the talent to do so. Thanks for your shares and hope you feel better very soon.

  5. It would be fun if giraffes could come in all different colors. Not good camouflage, but boy would the savanna be beautiful. And that cat named trouble made me smile. How come people never name their pets trouble? Not that pets are always trouble, but they all have their moments. So sorry to read you now have a cold. I hope you feel better very soon. hugs-Erika

    1. Thanks Erika! I need to play just now so am playing with fun animals. Today I made a black cat. I used to have a cat who was really called Trouble. She always hissed if I went near her or stroked her, but used to sleep on my head at night and hit me if I moved! Trouble indeed! Have a great day, hugs!
