Friday Faces

Hi Everybody!

This week has flown by again, and tomorrow is Friday ,and that means I will be linking to Nicole's FFO and to Gillena's AFFF. It was very hard to get photos up as Blogger is being very uncooperative just now, and that's putting it politely!

I have some various faces to show, starting off with Frida Kahlo:

This is a photo of me as a little girl together with my brother-in law, who was in the US army:

Another hand-made and stitched piece:

And this is the cover of a book I made for a friend:

And some funnies and thinkies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. You have a lot of fun faces today Valerie. I like the variety. And some nice smiles too. You can't go wrong if there's a cookie in your day either. Have a super weekend, and hope you're feeling better. hugs-Erika

  3. Aha! There are distinct traces of your old self here, Valerie, with pleasing birds and feathers, and even yourself as a young chick! Too bad you’re having problems with Blogger. Touch wood it hasn’t acted up for me for a while now - at least a few days! That poem by Spike Milligan is well crafted and so true. Yesterday I led a nature walk and an incredible forty-nine people came along, and there were many smiles at the end. It was two hours of pure joy for most of them and they expressed it. They went home very happy and even learned a little. And that left me smiling too. Now I am smiling that you are back with us, so the poem resonates today. Post a Heike smile for us and the circle will be complete. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Yes, I'm slowly feeling more like Valerie! 49 people for a nature walk - wow! That is really epic, well done. I love the poem from Spike Milligan, I've printed it out and have it on my kitchen wall to remind myself everyday. I went out with Heike for a meal yesterday, it was good to eat some real food, and I have the leftover half of my meal for lunch today, yummy! Next time I will post a Heike photo, I forgot yesterday. Yes, once I was a young chick, and now I'm an old and doddery bird! Have a good weekend, BIG hugs, xxxxxxxxx

  17. You've created wonderful little works, Valerie... so much fun to look at... and discover. Thank you very much.
I feel so much like making things with my hands at the moment... If you feel the same way, I always can't stop until a project is finished and I have so many in my head...
    Hug you.
I wish you a great week.

    Traude

  19. Such a cute photo of you and your brother in law - the backing paper is just perfect.
WOW, that Frida picture is so unusual and so beautiful. Very clever use of various elements. The stitched piece is lovely but the owl book cover has to be my favourite.
    Hugs, Neet xx
