Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a happy and healthy month of May. Today we are starting a new challenge at Art Journal Journey, and this time the lovely Matilde is our guest host and has chosen 🐦birds🐦 as her theme. The challenge runs for the whole month. Cards and tags are not allowed - please see the rules on our blog! I made a mixed media A3 piece using 'my' head, filled with birds, sunflowers, a face and some stenciled cogs and gears. The blue and yellow colours remind us of Ukraine and what is happening there. We are looking forward to seeing your artwork!

DeleteI love your first entry this month, Valerie. I know how much you love this theme, so I am sure we will see lots of different birds. This is a really lovely and touching journal page, honoring both Matilde's theme and Ukraine. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey dear.

DeleteA lovely piece full of thoughts lovely bird photos. Vee xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Vee, have a great day!
DeleteI am quite sure, Valerie, that everyone is rejoicing at the choice of birds as a theme. It doesn't get any better than that. No doubt everyone is assembling all the bright colours they have in all their various crayons, paints etc to do justice to this exalted branch of nature. Perhaps some are even out scouring for feathers to adorn their work, since I know that you are all adept at sticking objects to your artwork to add dimensionality and interest. The scope is endless, and for you especially, living as you do in Balconia-by-the-Rhine, home to avian diversity unmatched even in tropical jungles, with rarities and ancestral forms found nowhere else on the planet. The possibilities are endless! I will be looking forward to this week's posts! Hugs and kisses, David
ReplyDeleteHi David, this is a theme I really like, and you will also be seeing some new varieties in the course of the month!. And today I really found some feathers, perhaps I can put them in my long hair! Have a lovely day, I'm meeting up wth a friend today. Till tomorrow, mon ami! Hugs!
DeleteI hope those birds aren't making to much noise in your head. Its a fantastic and inspiring page Valerie and I love how you connected with the Ukraine as well as the new AJJ theme.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Yvonne xx
Well, it would make a change from the tinnitus! Hugs!
DeleteI am so excited to see one of your heads again. And this one is perfect for May and for our present times. Nice addition of sunflowers as well as birds. I noticed David's post and I read it (as its right above this one) and it made me smile about out looking for feathers. I had picked some up just for this challenge. Smile. And nice additions of bird photos too. Happy May to you, and I hope you have a wonderful and healthy month. hugs-Erika
