Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy!

I have my last entry for Elizabeth's recycling challenge at AJJ. I found a folder full of unfinished flower aintings, so I finished them, added some dots with a stencil and a quote - done! Thanks for a fun challenge, Elizabeth!

I had an early morning appointment with my doctor and then went to Cafe Schuster for my fave drink:

Some thinkies / funnies:

Some photos of a walk round Hariksee:

The coots always build their nests in the middle of the water:

This guy was having fun jumping all of the hens:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. Isn't it fun to finish up partially done pages? Although I must admit these poppies are so beautifully done even before you made the page even better. And what a nice walk. We have lots of bugs right now, so my walking is put on hold until the black flies go away (a couple of weeks hopefully). have a wonderful weekend. Hopefully you can relax a bit and enjoy the rest of April. hugs-Erika

    1. Thanks Erika, I still have a lot of unfinished pieces to finish some day.... Enjoy your weekend. Those black flies are awful, we used to get them in Israel, and they got into mouths, eyes, noses etc - horrible. Hope you have time for painting! Hugs!

  9. Hello Valerie: I am back at home earlier than expected. Somehow or other, I had in my head that this walk was scheduled for 9:00 am, but when I got there I was advised that it is at 2:00 pm - and that is exactly the time I have on file. So, I guess I will have to check myself into the home for Confused Old Farts! I have walks coming up for two other branches of the library, one beginning at 9:30 am and one at 10:00 am, so I didn't even get mixed up with one of them. The picture of the coot's nest is terriific. The American Coot doesn't nest in that fashion, concealing itself in the reeds. The nest I see in your picture is probably quite secure from land predators, but attack from the sky would be a risk I am sure. The goslings are adorable (ornithological term) and I am sure no one would disagree with that. As for your poppies they are wonderful, were eben before you added some extra frippery. You are a tlent to be reckoned with. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Oh dear, we can soon open a confused old farts club, I'm sure lots of others would join us. But if you're doing so many walks it's no wonder that you got the times mixed up. I now write everything down so I get to the right appointment at the right time. Coots are fun to watch, and the little ones with their big red feet are so funny to watch. Goslings are always woderful to watch, too. I know predators from the sky are still possible, but I love that they look after themselves and their young so well. I wish all human parents looked after their young, we can learn a lot from nature. Glad you liked the poppies, too! Have a great day. Tomorrow I'm going out to lunch again with Heike, so I will be taking photos! Hugs xxxxxx

  18. It would take lot of mosquito to take enough fat, that it would be noticeable.

  19. I absolutely adore your poppies. They are amazing. I also really liked the sentiment and the stencil you used, which reminded me of the one Bleubeard "used." You are super with this final entry at AJJ using Bleubeard's and my theme. We both LOVE it.

Nice you got out after the doctor and nice to see you had your favorite drink. Photos of the animals and swans were inspiring. Thanks for all these great photos you shared, too.
