Thursday/Friday post

 Hi Everybody!

Time is flying, hope your week is going well!

Today I have 2 more finished pieces from the Lifebook taster sessions to share. The first was inspired by a fun lesson from Jenny Manno, It was a fun process and there's always something new to learn at LB:

I am linking to Tracey's challenge at AJJ and to Paint Party Friday

This piece was inspired by a lesson from Stephanie Lee, the shape of patterns. The background was collaged and then the cut out bird shapes were placed onto it before painting over it. I added some splatters and some words. This was also a fun technique:

Wednesday morning:

Hofgarten:

By the Rhine:

Some memes:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. Both of your art pieces are amazing Valerie. I just love the colors in the first one and the texture and those birds in the second one are also fantastic. Your photos are perfect for autumn too. I love the sheep, and that stag statue against the leaves, wow. I also laughed at all the good things a cat does; dogs too. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! Hugs-Erika

  4. I haven't seen either of these latest taster entries. I am behind just seeing if it is something I might be able to watch before time ends this weekend. I'll have to look for both of these in my e-mail. Both are wonderful and I really love the one you shared with us for Tracey's theme at AJJ. Those birds are clever, too.

OH WOW on the photos. LOVE the stag surrounded by those incredible golden leaves. Loving the cat memes. I am still nursing my poor baby boy Squiggles who has not been able to keep food down for several days.

    1. Sorry your Squiggles is still ill, hope he gets better soon. A lot of the videos in the course are on YouTube, so I can re-watch them later. Jenny Manno's lesson was done with water soluble oil pastels and great fun to make!

  6. How exciting this course looks - you seem to be learning lots of new techniques and both samples today are lovely. I love the vibrant colours in the first one and the birds are gorgeous in the second and intrigue me.
Lovely photographs, gorgeous autumn colours you have captured and the skies are dramatic but what is the flower below the sky pictures please? I've never seen this before.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  7. Thanks Neet, glad you like it all. The flowers are in a lot of gardens along our road, they call them double pompoms, I love the colours. This is a beautiful time for warm colours. Have a great day, hope you are keeping well, hugs!

  8. Good morning Revered and Exquisite Valerie: This is all great. The colours are popping off the page imparting an air of joie de vivre, a sense of happiness, the feeling that it's good to have one's faculties percolating for at least one more day. My feathered friends all send you their avian accolades for the bird images you have rendered. They are looking for more and basking in the satisfaction that you feature them so frequently in your themes. In their world, Balconia-by-the-Rhine is a hallowed place. Perhaps the long distance flyers will even make a pilgrimage there one day. Yesterday I led another nature walk and the birds were very cooperative. This trail leads to the little village of St. Jacobs where we enjoyed a coffee and a scone before returning back to our cars. It was all very delightful. This morning we will be meeting Heather and Lily, and on Saturday I will repeat yesterday's walk for another group of keen avian aficionados. It is all quite wonderful. Knowledge is dispensed, old friendships cemented and new ones made. Does it get any better? I don't think so. Hugs and kisses. David

    1. Thanks David, revered and exquisite sounds great, I think I will get myself some visiting cards inscribed with those words....I'm not sure if my faculties are still percolating, but as long as the coffee still percolates, I'm happy! We already have lots of your long distance flying birds here, the noble and handsome geese which are pooping all our parks full. But they are beautiful and I aways enjoy seeing them. Glad the birds were cooperative on your walk yesterday, I hope they will also be so on your walk today with Heather and Lily. I suppose you tweet the birds in advance and tell them where they should be. Coffee and scones sound very good, too. It's good that you have so many contacts through your birding. This afternoon I'm going to the painting group, it's nice to have a bit of company sometimes. Have a lovely day with your friends, feathered and otherwise, have fun, take care. Hugs to you and M!
