T stands for Ts galore

Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are beginning a new challenge at

🌻In my garden🌼

As always, projects of all formats are allowed, and you have
2 weeks to link your creations to us. Hope to see
YOU there!

I made an A4 mixed media piece. The background was painted,
sprinkled with brushos and sprayed with water. After it had
dripped and dried I added the main image using a paper
napkin sent to me by Yvonne. The birds and diamonds were
stenciled, and the quote hand-written. I am also linking to Jo's
'Poetry in Motion' theme at Art Journal Journey.

Our 'use your scraps challenge at Tag Tuesday runs
for another week, so hope to see you joining the use-it-up-
scrappers over there.  I used a scrap of hand-painted paper for the
background, and some black paper from a recycled calendar for
the matting. The image, lace, beading, Victorian scrap and ribbon were
all in my scrap boxes. I added the rose and the die-cut word. I think the
image is from Gecko Galz:

Today is also Elizabeth's weekly T stands for Tuesday party, so here
a hearty welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T gang.
I have another postcard to give away this week, so if you would like to get it in your mail-box, please tell me in a comment, and I will pick a
name out of the  hat if it's more than one. Last week's card was
won by Erika, and it is on its way:

Recently I visited Duisburg, a neighbouring town with a lot of
interesting industrial pieces, reminding of the town's industrial past.
Duisburg has the largest river harbour in the world.
Most of the ships that chug up and
down the Rhine and pass our little town have come from,
or are on their way to the harbour there.
I needed to warm up and dry out, and
found a nice cafe to drink my cappuccino:

In the harbour:

There are lots of sculptures there, too:

This wheel was HUGE:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  12. I'm marveling at how seamlessly you blended the napkin into the lovely page you made for the garden challenge, Valerie. Sooo pretty!

And the scraps tag is very sweet (double entendre intended). That challenge is next on my to-do list.

I would love to receive an art postcard from you. Fingers crossed.

That's a very impressive harbor for being on a river. I'm enjoying being an armchair traveler by way of all the fascinating posts shared at our T-parties. Thank you for the photos. I've never been to Europe.

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

  18. I'm already SO far behind, and now I'm even behind for T Tuesday. Your lovely TioT entry made me smile. How could it have been two weeks. Seems like August just started and it's nearly half over! I'm really in love with it and it was a great addition to AJJ, too.

As always I'm impressed with your tag. I love the sewing and cannot believe all that beauty comes from a scrap bin.

I was most assuredly impressed with the harbor at Duisburg. I always love any and everything industrial, and was simply mesmerized by the beauty of this. I know others may not consider it beauty, but, like rust, I certainly do.

I was super impressed with the sculptures. The globe reminded me of the one created for the world's fair in New York. I got the privilege of seeing it when I drove through New York State.

The wheel was absolutely fabulous. I was of course, in love with the rusty areas you so lovingly photographed.

Then there's your wonderful T entry. It was great to see the cappuccino from another town. Thanks for sharing it, as well as your art and architecture photos with us for T this Tuesday.

  21. Wonderful quote and page for Art Journal Journey, thanks so much for bringing sunshine and happiness to my garden today after all the grey clouds and rain yesterday 😁. The quote and colours are perfect! I love the drippy paints and Brusho background, and the layers of napkin images are lovely - I can just hear your rooster crowing to the hen whose hiding in all those pretty flowers... lol 😉. Another beautiful tag too with the pearl embellishments and lace. Wow, the harbour is full of amazing things, I enjoyed seeing how they have incorporated ship parts into the design, the sculpture and those wonderful wheels. Thanks again and wishing you a Happy T Day! J 😊
