Hi Everybody!
We had another hot and sticky day here,
but tomorrow should be cooler - I hope so!
For Art Journal Journey, post and postage I made another A3 mixed media journal page. The background was painted with gesso, and textured with a swirl stamp. I coloured it with titan buff and used some red DI to distress the edges of the image. The 'letters' were cut out and placed over each other. I gave the butterfly a coat of crackle paste. The lady looks as if she is thinking about something, perhaps she is waiting for a special letter....
Waiting for breakfast:
This pigeon was sitting on top of the horrible statue on the castle ruins:
It's relaxing to just look at the water
I enjoyed sitting watching the boats
Another pigeon with a good vantage point
I love the shapes here at the corner of the hospital roofs
This is the bread stall at the Wednesday market, they sell gorgeous bread,
rolls and cake.
Wow- how wonderful to have a bread and pastry stall and a little market. I would be in trouble if that was near me! And what a great page today. That woman is beautiful, and I love how you mounted her on the old letter and used that great postcard butterfly. Hope your weather is cooler today. Ours finally is feeling back to normal! Yahoo!

I always love it when you take shape photographs to share and all the wonderful mix of textured surfaces you find on your travels
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and interesting journal page today Valerie with terrific colour for the background and lots of lovely stamps yet again. I think the lady may be expecting a cheque in the post as the hand gesture seems to suggests money :)
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
A cheque in the post sounds good, wouldn't min getting one of those instead of bills!
DeleteGreat artwork! Love the stamped letters! Beautiful pics as always! Xx
ReplyDeleteWow Valerie, what a stunning page, she is such a beautiful, elegant lady, I on the other hand am sitting here in my jammies and dressing gown, so I'd better get a move on! Lol! xx

LG Anja
I like how you arranged the stamps on this page. I love visiting (okay buying from) the pastry and bread shops when we visit the Bronx NYC. The car smells so good on the way home!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece today Valerie. Love the idea of a fresh bread stand, YUM, I can almost smell it! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThe bread always smells sooooooooooo good, it's really hard to walk by!
