We had a nice day here, sunny but with a bit of a chill in the air - autumn is coming!
Today we have a new challenge at Tag Tuesday - Fairy Tales. I chose Little Red Riding Hood. I used a CWS stencil and distress inks to make the forest and sunset background, Little Miss Red and the big bad Mr Wolf are just arriving at Grandma's house. Olly the Owl has seen what's going on, and is planning to fly away and alarm the Hunter, so he can save silly little Red.

At Mix it monthly the theme is trees, and at Art Journal Journey, Living beings, so I hope this journal page, made from another old calendar page, will cover both themes.
The large tree is a stencil from CWS. I distressed the background with DIs and drew around the tree with a black fine liner. The tree fairy has been made from textile leaves in various sizes, partly distressed with DI and crackle varnish. Her dress has been made from 2 layers of paper and trimmed with leaves and fibres. The dogs and birds have been stamped, and the other beings are vintage scraps. I drew her face and legs.
Yesterday evening we had a beautiful moon
And I was able to watch the sunrise while drinking my morning coffee.

Valerie, your tag is exceptional. Little Red Riding Hood was a favorite story for me as a child. Your journal page with the little miss dressed in fall colours and leaves is also stunning. Living beings is a great theme this month. We are also able to view the full moon in the evening for a beautiful sight.

Your tag is lovely but I am head over heals in love with your journal page. Love the tree and love the lady. Valerie you draw so well I don't understand why you don't draw more!! Your leaf lady is really wonderful and I sure hope that bird doesn't claw into her scalp. You don't need anymore doctor appointments.

ReplyDeleteWas ein gelungener Post! Die kleine Waldfee ist zuckersüss und ihr Blattkleid steht ihr vorzüglich! Sie erinnert mich daran, dass es nun bald Herbst wird und wenn ich aus dem Fenster schaue, sehe ich genau das: Regen und kalter Wind...bbrrr, das verspricht viel kuschelige Tage inside und viel warmen Tee und Zeit zum malen...sehr schön!
