Hi Everybody!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are feeling it and well to start the new week - have a good one!
This evening we will be starting Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link parTy, where we share news, beverages and more. Here a hearty welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang who visit here.
At the weekend I showed some pics of Zons, a little medieval town near here, which I visited 2 years ago along with Sabine of Artbee Art. As you know, sightseeing makes you hungry and thirsty, and we visited a wonderful garden-cafe. We passed by lots of signs for other restaurants before we found the perfect spot:
Looks like a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was indeed!!
DeleteLooks like you and Sabine had a perfect day! I hope you have a great week. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha, have a great week!
DeleteWow, looks like a wonderful day! How awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nas, stay Safe!
DeleteThanks Laurie!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were in the pictures, but is Sabine, right ?!
ReplyDeleteI miss the summer so terribly, the terrace to drink a good coffee, the social contacts ...
Hello gorgeous!
Thank you for the beautiful photos! Hugs!
Thanks Ella. Yes, it is Sabine. I Hope that Things will get back to normal soon.
DeleteThank you for a lovely day out! Thank goodness we currently have these memories to hang on to. I hope you are keeping well and safe, and wish you Dydd Santes Dwynwen Hapus!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Deb
Thanks, happy St Dwynwen's day to you, too! Have a wonderful week!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Just got back home, had to take mum to doctor's. But she was good this time! Lovely to see the beautiful photos. Have a good and safe week, hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, glad mum behaved herself! Have a great week, hugs to all!
DeleteGood morning Valerie: Thanks for the continuation of the tour around this beautiful little town with Sabine in her beautiful blue dress. She looks stunning. The charm of this place is readily apparent to all, and they reward your perambulations with waffles and ice cream....oh and strawberries too. And that's a small order? Sabine looks very happy with her coffee, and I imagine you downed a couple of those too. I hope that washrooms were readily available! Maybe in the post COVID era you will be able to make a repeat visit. I am not a big fan of ZOOM meetings and today I have three of them. Not something I am especially looking forward to. Oh how pleasant it will be to get together again with real people! One day! Take good care. Until tomorrow, hugs and kisses. David
ReplyDeleteHi David, glad you liked your tour of Zons, it really is a little gem, I never tire of visiting there. Sabine is a lovely friend, she drove us there! Yes, that was the small waffle plate, I have no idea how large the large one would have been....My computer breaks down if I try to zoom, it's just too old and wobbly, a bit like me! Hope you get your meetings done well! Yes, it will be wonderful to meet up with people again. That's one good things about the clinic, we have fun together! BIG hugs to you and Miriam!

ReplyDeleteGood memories are the best medicine for all diseases. I hope we will travel again soon and enjoy good coffee and the company of friends
Thant's very true, Lucyna! Let's hope we can soon travel again!
DeleteThanks so much for this post. Your friend looked lovely and Zons is a nice place to visit. Love those strawberries and the coffee, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenda, Zons is beautiful.
DeleteOh how I would dearly love to spend at least a month in Germany and definitely visit this town. I have always loved your pictures Valerie.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
I'm sure you would love it! Stay safe and well!
DeleteYour photos always make me want to come for a visit. It just feels so beautiful there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole!
DeleteSabine is so pretty:) She looks very friendly:)
ReplyDeleteShe is indeed!
DeleteCharming cafe and since snow is coming tomorrow, I'm dreaming of warm sunshine, strawberries, ice cream, and waffles. The geraniums in the window boxes look so pretty. I should see if they can grow in shade. I loved the pick yourself up and straighten your crown sign, and the blue kitty would look so good in my Zensical garden. I hope you are doing better and will be home soon. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ, let's dream of summer and strawberries and hope they come soon!
DeleteThat patio seating looks welcoming, and I long for the day I can have lunch in such a great spot.
ReplyDeleteIs that a mill wheel? Cool! Happy T Tuesday!
I think we're all longing for a return to normality! Yes, it's a mill wheel!
DeleteThanks :) The first piece of art I ever copied was painting of a mill wheel, and they always bring back fond memories :)
DeleteI love mill wheels, too. Perhaps you could show your piece one day!
DeleteI was a child and don't still have it. I did keep it for a long time, though :)
Delete💖😁💖
DeleteHow charming! I'm longing for those days when I can get together with a friend and wander a cute town!
ReplyDeleteThanks, aren't we all.....
DeleteI just finished my post right before 4 pm, then saw you asked me to link you, so I did. Wow, the waffle and strawberry ice cream looks delicious, and your photos showing the places you passed in order to get to this lovely spot were beautiful. I was also taken by the AM Kindergarten and the crown. Thanks for sharing your lovely trip, food, and drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear. I hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteThanks E, I am feeling better and hope I can go home soon!
DeleteWhat a lovely little town. Such nice-looking sweets, too.
ReplyDeletebe safe... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae, have a great day.
DeleteA wonderful way to spend time with your friend! The sights, architecture, shops and cafe look so stunning, it looked like you walked quite a few steps that day 😀. That small portion of waffles with strawberries must have been very welcome, it looks so good but if that's small I hate to think what a big portion looks like ...lol 😉. Lovely post, wishing you a happy T Tuesday! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo, I can't imagine a large portion either! Happy T Day!
DeleteSuch a beautiful area! I love where you stopped to eat and drink! That strawberry dish looked so yummy! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy, it was really good!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have that special time with the lovely Sabine. Happy T Day!
Thanks. Looking back to days like this gives me hope! Happy T Day!
DeleteOh it looks like it was great day out, and it certainly was a great post to read from the comfort of my couch. Those strawberries, ice cream and waffles are teasing my sweet tooth. That's a lot of strawberries, and they certainly look delicious. Especially now the winter practically fruitless time. Oranges and apples are great, but oh for some really fresh strawberries. Hope all is well and have a great T day my friend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, strawberry time will hopefully come again! Happy T Day!
DeleteWhat a beautiful place! I loved seeing the pictures of your visit to that medieval town. The café looks like a lovely place to sit and enjoy that strawberry dish. So glad that you shared this past trip.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Thanks Kate, it is indeed a beautiful place! Happy T Day!
DeleteWonderful day out 😁
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed!
Lieben Gruss Elke
Danke liebe Elke. Ich denke noch 2 oder 3 Wochen. Bleib gesund!
DeleteWhat a wonderful post! I enjoyed it so much! If that was two years ago, how did I miss this one? I don't remember seeing these pictures (I would have remembered).
ReplyDeleteThe story about the well and the drinking water is interesting. I wonder what they did after the floods, when the water was contaminated. According to the sign, they didn't get a proper drink water system until 1935. I can't believe they drank contaminated water for 35 years.
I love the 'straighten-your-crown, carry on' sign. Brilliant. That is what we have to do.
The waffle looks delicious. A small portion you say? Wow! That would feed an orphanage!
Thank you for taking me through this beautiful village.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Thanks Lisca. It could be that I didn't show the pics on a Tuesday. I have more photos on today's blog. It must have been very hard for the people with no clean drinking water, I suppose they had to boil it all. The good old days weren't always good! The portions at that cafe were huge, a real family portion! Have a happy T Day, hugs!
DeleteBeautiful pictures ~ I love the windmill shots, I find them fascinating. Yummy treats in a perfect setting with a sweet friend to shop and chat with ~ Sounds wonderful right about now! Blessings on your week ~
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! These are things we are all missing just now! Stay safe!
