New challenge at Tag Tuesday

 Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time the lovely and talented Sandy has chosen the theme, which is

Black and white and a spot of another colour

And thanks to Sandie for coordinating and organizing the schedules of who does what when in our TT Team, which is a great help to me. Our challenges always last 2 weeks, and tags of all formats and sizes are allowed, but it must be a tag! My tag shows a corner shop, which were very frequent in London when I grew up, and where you really could buy almost everything. I think the little girl is going to buy an ice-cream. The shops mostly died out when supermarkets and big stores changed the face of the shopping world.  hope to see YOUR tag soon!

Thee sunrise this morning was very colourful:

T sTands for This and That

Hi Everybody!

The weekend is over, and a new week is coming - let's hope it will be a good one for us all.

Today I am sharing a very simple hybrid piece made for Chris's 'when we were young' challenge at AJJ. I don't know where the weekend went, it's Sunday evening as I write this and I'm still sitting in my nightdress....

This evening we will start celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies who visit here today. I am showing a coffee-bird, as long as he doedsn't drink my coffee it's okay!

And 2 cups of delicious coffee in Cafè Schuster, a wonderful place for coffee and cake:

And some thinkies and funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's hoping we all have a great weekend, and that the temperatures are bearable - not too hot and not too cold! Today I am sharing one of my faces again, I love making these girls with big hair:

These are the pages made in Melnie Rivers' challenge last week, which was about trees and roots and growth and the wisdom that comes with age. We started off by texturing all of the pages, and added the various themes on the following days:

The tree of life and wisdom:

The last is an elderly lady, connecting her wisdom and spreading her roots:

And this is my Great Grandmother Rachel who escaped from the pogroms in Russia in the 19th century and went to London to give her children a better chance of life. She, too, was rooted in her faith that she  would reach her goal:

Some views from mybalcony:

My lovely blue flowers all burnt by the heat:

Trees are already turning colour:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Thursday/Friday post

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are all doing well. It is cooler than last week, but still very hot, and still no rain: The Rhine is shrinking day by day, the fields are all parched - so sad. But I now have a good fan at home, which helps a lot. Thanks to my good friend Sarah who sent it to me!

Today I have another page to share for Chris's 'when we were young' challenge at AJJ. I know I showed you another elephant already,  but this was actually  the first one I made. And there's another one in the making, sort of Hippie style. I was fascinated by elephants when I was younger, and I know I told you about  riding one, and if I ever get the chance I will do so again. I am also sharing to Friday Face Off   and  Gillena's Friday Fun:

This is beautiful, too!

Yesterday I went with my friend Heike into 'town'. She had an appointment at the doctor's, and while she was there I went round and took photos. Afterwards we had a drink here near the Rhine, Heike chose cappuccino and I had an alcohol free white beer, as I was really parched! The wasps kept trying to share our drinks, too!

This is our police station, usually open twice a week for a couple of hours:

Beaches where none were before - at the moment there are only 32cms water in the Rhine:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
