Snow Business

Hi you all! We are still 'enjoying' plenty of snow here, and very frosty temperatures. Yesterday I had an early appointment with my doctor, and had to battle my way through a snow storm to get there. It was extremely windy, too, and I had to hang onto my umbrella with both hands so as not to turn into an overweight, snow-covered Mary Poppins! Anyway, I made it there and back in one piece, although on the way home I nearly got flattened by a car which tried to take the corner too quickly and slithered onto the sidewalk before being stopped by a hedge, and if I had been 2 yards further he would have got me - yikes!

The first 2 photos were taken from my balcony yesterday as the snow storm was just starting. They are not b/w ones, there was just no colour!

Today I went out for a little walk along the stream next to our house. The sun was shining, so although it was very cold, it was enjoyable.

Pity you can't see how the snow was sparkling!

Tomorrow we have been promised rain, and then it is supposed to freeze again - sounds like it will be very slippery at the beginning of the week, I think I will be staying home....

Here's wishing you all a good weekend! Take care, have fun, and stay creative!
Thanks for visiting!

Some photo cards

Hi you all. At the beginning of the week I printed out a whole sheet of snowy photos taken here. One I used for my Tag Tuesday tag, and the others I turned into cards. I like this mix of reality and fantasy. I have now cleared away the rest of the Christmas papers, I have not really made enough, but it as much as I can do just now. Had a big fight trying to get cards into envelopes and address labels stuck on today, my fingers were once again playing their own game!

This is the same photo I used for the tag, just a different Santa walking along.

This is the tree in the ruins of the Kaiserpfalz (Imperial Castle) which is down by the Rhine.

This tree is on the street where I live.

And these two little birds look like they are trying to keep warm. Good idea, as we have loads of snow and deep-freeze temperatures promised! I used a metallic card, which did not photograph well.

That was all for today. Take care, have fun, and thanks a lot for visiting!

Tag Tuesday and Happy Mail

Wow! Today I have managed to get my tag for Tag Tuesday posted promptly on Tuesday, so I'm pleased about that. Our theme is 'winter landscape'. I wanted to keep it simple, as my fingers are still leading their own lives, so  I used a photo I took in 2010. It shows the pathway leading along the remains of the old wall, parallel to the Rhine, which used to be part of the town's defenses in the old days. I just added the vintage Santa image, and matted it onto some blue miri card and silver card. The beads are some of those I made last year, and the silver embellishment was sent by a crafty friend, as were the pretty fibres.

I received this pretty card from Chrissie, who was so kind to send me get well wishes. Thanks a lot Chrissie, and all the others who have sent post and mails.

Have a good day you all, take care, and thanks for coming by!

Xmas cards again

Hi you all, hope you are enjoying your weekend, whatever you are up to!
It's cold and grey and dismal here, so I was happy that I didn't have to stick my nose outside yesterday.
My doc is going to reduce my tablets over the next 5 weeks or so, so I am hoping that when I have them out of my system, my shaky fingers will start getting better.

I have made a few more cards, nothing special, but I have to start getting them posted soon. I will just not be able to send as many as I did last year.

Have a good Sunday you all, take care, and thanks for visiting!

And a few more Christmas Cards....

Hi you all! Another week is over, and I have not managed to get as much done as I would have liked to. My fingers seem to be getting shakier from day to day, which is very frustrating, but I see the doctor today for more tests, and hope that I can have the medis reduced soon and that that will make a difference. Sorry to moan, but I am getting really fed up with being ill - I'm afraid I am not a patient patient!

I have made the cards similar to the others, mostly using using paper from DCKW, and a little remnant from Graphics 45, plus the golden cut outs I got from the discounter, and some ribbon.

Here's wishing you all a good weekend, take care, and thanks for coming by!

Tag Tuesday (On Wednesday)

Hi you all! Our theme at Tag Tuesday this week is keeping warm. As we are in for a cold spell, this seems to  have been perfectly timed!
For my tag I pasted the penguin motive from  a serviette onto a piece of scrap card. After some fussy cutting  I then mounted it onto some blue miri card with foam squares. I gave the big penguin a woolly scarf, added some 'snow' with a Martha Stewart punch and snowflakes with silver stickles. The silver and red pompoms were on some cocktail sticks which I have never used. I am still struggling with my crafting, my shaky fingers are driving me crazy, I just hope they are soon back to normal!

That's all for today. Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!

More Christmas cards

Hi you all! I managed some more cards over the weekend, in spite of very shaky fingers. Apart from that, not much to report, as I didn't get out at all.

I used coordinating papers from DCWV, some gold cut outs I bought at the Discounter's, and ribbons, stars and liquid pearls. It's a bit difficult with the liquid pearls, as I have to use both hands to squeeze just now, which makes it a bit hard to control the amount, but I am slowly getting the knack of it, after several large blobs and squirts landed where they shouldn't have!

I am linking to Artful Times, where the theme this week is 'Anything goes'

That's all for today. Have a great week, take care and thanks for visiting!
