Mid week this and that

Hi Everybody!

We're still enjoying sunny and mostly dry weather here, but it is still rather cool and windy. But it's great for walking, and I have been doing a lot of that to take my mind off less pleasant things, so that was good. I averaged 18 kilometers a day last week, and this week has got off to a great start, too.

For this piece made a couple of weeks back I re-purposed an old canvas, giving it 3 coats of gesso before painting and collaging it new. I used Deco art fluid acrylics. The texture around the edges was made with coarse embossing paste into which I stamped and added some fine reflex pearls. It looks better now than the dark piece it was before. I will be linking to Paint Party Friday.

On m walks through our little town I noticed lots of  houses with the number 42, so these pics are just for those 'Hitchhikers' who are interested - now you know where to find the answers:

And now for some 'normal' walking photos.
The Nile goslings are almost fully grown:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. Hi Val, good morning! Gorgeous canvas, it looks so peaceful. Love the photos, you really have been out and about a lot, and the sheep portraits are fabulous. Had to laugh at the 42s, I still remember us watching various films and episodes way back when! Tardis comes to mind.... Hope the weather is kind to you again, have fun walking, hugs, Sarah

  4. I love how today's art looks so much like an Italian village. And maybe elsewhere too, but Very pretty. The texture on the edge makes a great frame. And I also think your evening walk was full of pretty colors. And nice finds of 42. You saw a lot of them. Hope your midweek is sunny and warms up, we've been damp and on the cooler side still. Hugs-Erika

  8. Your canvas piece is beautiful I love the added texture! Taking photos of all the number 42 is such a cool idea, shows a lot of different doors as well, the bird standing on one leg has such unusual markings on its chest, I could just feel the sheep’s silky soft ears, I love sheep and goats, have a wonderful day!

  11. It would be lovely to come across such a beautiful scene as the one on your canvas! Wonderful photos, the sheep are unfamiliar breeds to me - but still fascinating! Great sunset photos too! Hugs, Chrisx

  12. So many 42s! I'll be linking your post to my next 42 post :) Great fun.

Your walking is an encouragement to me. I didn't walk any over the winter, and now -even though I exercised- I can tell I need to get back to a regular walking program. Your photos always make me feel like I've had an outing, but it's not quite the same as actually doing the walking ;)

    1. Wow! Nice :) I rarely see them now that the local artist responsible for painting them everywhere has moved away. Addresses here are always longer than 2 digits.

    2. Some of the smaller streets here don't even get out of the one digit range!

  26. I'm not a picker but for some reason the little bumps I want take my finger nails and scratch. But I like the fruit tree in front it makes me feel welcome...feeding the stranger.
