Hi Everybody!
In my post today I want to wish dear Elizabeth, the queen of recycling, re-using and repurposing, a very happy bEARTHday!
I am sharing a collage made a couple of years back, which I have repurposed. I added more collage pieces, changed her hair colour and gave her curls, and added a quote from Mary Oliver, 'I simply do not distinguish between work and play'.
Have a great day Elizabeth, I hope Bleubeard and Squiggles will meow and yowl for you to make your birthday unforcatable:
Today I have 2 photos taken this morning when I woke up. There was sunshine outside and lots of sparkly raindrops on the window:
The 2nd pic is very special, as you can see my reflection on the righthand side, standing in my pink and white nightdress and taking the photo - oooops!
And of course, I am linking to Elizabeth's challenge at AJJ
Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
I like your art work, the collage is so vibrant with color and the second is a bit mysterious and sets a mood.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, have a great weekend!
DeleteLove the raindrops on the window. Another fun lady. Party down, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Thanks Sandra, happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, enjoy your weekend!
DeleteI am loving this women piece. The large lady has a powerful expression. And that is the best way to live-not to distinguish between work and play. Happy weekend to you Valerie and I hope Elizabeth has a great birthday too. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. It really is a great way to live. Have a great weekend, have fun!
DeleteHappy Birthday to Elizabeth! Lovely page, good to see the sunshine.

DeleteAny time there is a quote from Mary Oliver the whole tenor of the piece is uplifted. If anyone had a way to use words perfectly it was her. I am sure you are a close second, Valerie, and you have her beat when it comes to wild women with big hair. That's your speciality and the adornments you dream up for them are the stuff of fantasy. Does Heike share your artistic flare? Is she a member of the exalted guild of crafters, painters, sewists, sculptors, scrapbookers and other assorted artisans? Given your proclivity for the wurst (hah!) maybe you should jointly start making sausages. I am sure you could dream up ways to make them very interesting, and who knows, perhaps even naughty. I will leave it to you to come up with ideas. If they are not for public viewing you have my email address. This afternoon we have to go to a "Celebration of Life" for a friend of ours who died last week. Always sad, but it's inevitable for all of us. White-throated Sparrows are singing in the garden and I like to think they are serenading Marco. He would have liked that. With hugs and kisses, abrazos y besos et gros bisous - David
ReplyDeleteThanks David, Mary Oliver really had a way with words, I love her writings. I'm sure I know all about wild women, being one of them myself. Heike doesn't do art, but bought quite a few of my paintings. And cooking is not her thing either. Tomorrow we are going to the pizzeria again, yummy. And the coffee and cake yesterday was great, too. And no, David, no naughty sausages.....although some with psychedelic patterns might be fun.....Yes, sooner or later it's game over for all of us, so it's really important to celebrate life day by day. Have a great weekend, take care, big hugs xxxxx
DeleteWhat a fun creation to celebrate a friend's birthday! Loving all the puns within this post and the photos which include yourself too :) Have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, it's always good to have fun with a pun! Oh yes, a photo of me in my nighty! Have a good weekend, hugs!
DeleteGreat quote on the goddess piece. The sparkly raindrops make the pretty view outside your window magical. Have an awesome day
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ! Raindrops can be so beautiful. Have a great weekend!
DeleteWOW, Valerie. I certainly wasn't expecting such a fun and joyous bEARTHday. You have really made my day, dear. THANK YOU.
ReplyDeleteI love that you repurposed your own art. I have done that, too but never someone else's, although Sharon says she does. I think this is brilliant and such an awesome way to recycle using Bleubeard's and my theme at AJJ. BTW, the fur boys are meowing and yowling that I must feed them, even though they should be fixing me breakfast.
I wear nightgowns and prefer them over pjs. I love the photos of your window, especially with you in it. Thanks again for your sweet remembrance.
So glad you liked your bEARTHday surprise! Nightgowns, big and baggy, are always so comfy. I often alter pieces made in past years, and have big fun changing them! Have a wonderful day, and then celebrate for the rest of the month! Hugs!
DeleteWhat a wonderous piece of art! I love your photos with you too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lisa!
DeleteHi Valerie, I totally agree with Erika your Auburn haired lady is a powerful image. love the intricate details around her. The girl with the long hair and crown reminds me of myself around the age of 9 hee hee.. I really wish I could relate to those work & play words, it's been a miserable week. Hope you are keeping well?? Nice to see your reflection upon the rainy/sunshine window... any rainbow..??
ReplyDeleteHope Elizabeth is having a great bEARTHDAY bless her.
Hugs Tracey xx
Thanks Tracey! The lady looks very determined, I could use a bit of her determination! Sorry you had such a miserable week, hope the next one will be better. I think at the age of 9 we all wanted crowns and long dresses! Have a good weekend, take care of yourself, hugs
DeleteHappy Earth day.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe.
Thanks, same to you!
DeleteWonderful way to reuse your art pieces. Have a great weekend. Anesha x

DeleteLoving that collage.
ReplyDeleteThanks 🙏 so much!
DeleteLiebe Valerie-Jael,

Thanks so much Traude. I love Klimt! Have a great day!
DeleteSuch a lovely repurposed piece. I love her hair and I love the tiny women that have come to join your main woman. Are some of those images by Jane Davenport? The young girl in the crown looks very sad to me but beautiful. I do hope she is growing up to be a queen some day.
ReplyDeleteHugs, neet xx
Thanks Neet, I used some JD washi tape for the little faces! Hugs!
