Hi everybody!
Today I have a face in pink/orange/red tones meant for Erika's seeing red theme at AJJ. I painted her on A3 paper with acrylic paints and paint markers. At first I didn't like her at all, but in the meantime she's growing on me!
And I have a hybrid tag for Pinky's love / hearts challenge at Tag Tuesday:
Frozen lichen/ moss:
some funnies / thinkies!
I will also be linking to Nicole's FFO and
Gillena's Friday art fun-
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Beautiful page and tag! That last thinkie is my favourite
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, I think we all know that feeling!
DeleteBeautiful art work Valerie, I enjoy your photos and thinkies
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, have a great day!
Liebe Umarmung Elke
Danke, liebe Elke. I used to love driving in an open car with friends, always fun! Dir einen schönen Tag, alles Liebe! Uuuups, wieder halb Englisch, halb Deutsch!
DeleteGreat page, Valerie. She's growing on me too. All your women have this distinctive sultry look about them. They could be collectively known as Valerie's Vamps! The lichen with its coating of frost looks very appealing. Lichens really are keystones of nature, often being the first organisms to colonize a lava field after a volcano and fix nitrogen to create soil. Hummingbirds use lichen extensively in their nests, and bind them with spider webs. They are wonders of construction even having flexibility designed in to permit expansion as the young grow bigger. Amazing! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteHi David, I wrote you a long comment and it disappeared into the realms of never never land. I love the title of 'Valerie's Vamps' - perfect! THe houses which make up the clinic are about 150 years old, and there are lots of lichens growing on the old stone and brick walls, really fascinating! Have a great day, big hugs! xxxx
DeleteI wonder what else is rambling around in never-never land, lost forever!
DeleteScary thought!
DeletePink and orange go together so well, and I like the shades you used. She is just gorgeous. I didn't need to have her grow on me; I liked her right off. You did a super job of getting those 2 colors to blend. Thanks so much for linking up to AJJ; it is definitely appreciated. I am loving your tag too. Those ladies look like they are having a lot of fun. It made me smile. I hope you're having a relaxing week and feeling better. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, glad you like my colourful lady. I will be here in the clinic for the next 4 weeks and can then go home - yesssssssssssssssss. It's a wonderful place, but there's no place like home!
DeleteI like those green eyes, which contrast so well with the pink. Also love the hearts hanging from those eyes. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, hugs!

DeleteHad my catch up and a good grin at the funnies you included in the posts, where do you find them all, the one with the dog on the scales is great.
ReplyDeleteFantastic art pages and tags as well.
Hope you are keeping well and feeling better. these days.
Take care.
Yvonne xx
Thanks Yvonne, I think we can all relate to the dog on the scales!
DeleteI am so with that PUG when I get on the4 scales. Not my collar but always something ready as an excuse.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that dog was so stupid as to tag along with the statues but maybe he was or maybe something was rubbed on the tail of the last dog so that he went over to it and the photographer just go his shot. Either way it is very clever.
Love your art today, I enjoy your portraits and admire your use of colour with them. The neck is absolutely fabulous in this piece.
Hope you are improving.
Hugs, Neet xx
Oh yes, I am always convinced that the scales are wrong! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDelete"Let's go somewhere!" Yes. I think I've forgotten how lol
ReplyDeleteThose were the days!
DeleteWhat a wonderful post. I would love to jump in the car and go somewhere with the girls. I miss those days. All of my good friends that I used to do that with have moved away. The art is just beautiful. I cracked up at the little dog on the scales.
ReplyDeleteYes, I miss those days out with the girls these days. ost of my 'girls' have moved away or died, sad. Hugs!
Delete...I love your one eye lady, she is a looker! From now on when I get of the scales I will say that that "it must be the collar!" Take care and stay well, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom, that doggy has given me peace of mind now that I know it's only the collar causing the wight gain! Hugs!
DeleteEnjoyed your art and thinkies Valerie. And i agree waiting does have to be do e in an effective way.

Thanks so much Carol. Have a great weekend, hugs!
DeleteYour lady is beautiful and has a really long neck. Love it and the hearts down her eye. I'm glad she grew on you because she is perfect for Erika's theme at AJJ. That tag is SO fun. Reminds me of the old fashioned Valentines.
ReplyDeleteSure liked some of those funnies. The first with the animals is my favorite, I think, although I laughed at the dog on the scale. Enjoy your day, dear.
I keep getting a "failed to publish." FRUSTRATING.
Blogger is sometimes hard!
DeleteGorgeous artwork Valerie and your tag made me smile. I would love to be in that car right now lol. Brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pinky, so would I!
DeleteYou have a distinctive style for your painted ladies ... you should have a name for them that sets them apart. I also enjoy the use of orange and pink together. I have always liked that combination and yet you rarely see it. Your Funnies and Thinkies are always right on. I especially love the cat getting into the container of screws ... that is so typical and the look on his face says it all. And the definition of patience ... oh I know some people who should read that. Maybe I will copy it a make a sign to carry with me when I go somewhere where we have to wait. I love your posts, Valerie ... Have a loving Valentines this week :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Thanks Andrea! David recently named my faces 'Valerie's Vamps', how would that be as a good name? Patience is a virtue which so many do not have! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
Deleteyour journal page is STUNNING!!! your hearts tags also so very sweet! hope you are well. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Michele, have a great weekend!
