Midweek Post- What makes me happy # 7

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all got a good start in the week and are feeling well and happy ! Today I am sharing a face made a few weeks back, She seems to like colours as the scarves - or feathers? around her head are bright and beautiful. I made her necklace from a piece of coloured twine, twisted round a few times and then knotted and glued on. I am enjoying trying different things. This is of course meant for Matilde's 'what makes me happy' challenge at AJJ:

And a few thinkies / funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. I have no time right now, Valerie, to do this justice, so let me come back to it later, when my fingers will be able to dance across the keyboard in their normal way. Three ladies are expecting me to take them birding at any moment, and we will even be having lunch together. I am swooning at the thought. Hugs and kisses - David

  7. Oh I love this lady. Adding that necklace and having it pop off the page is great. She is very exotic, or else trying to be in disguise. :) And nice funnies too. Imagine, we did use to answer the phone without knowing who it was. Happy mid-week. Hope all the tests are done with. hugs-Erika

    1. Thanks, Erika! Ah yes, she is a mystery lady! I still have more tests tomorrow, 2 on Friday and several more next week. But the worse thing is getting up so early! The docs are all very nice. And on top of it all I need some dental work done, I will be so happy when it's all finished! Hugs!

  11. I like her headscarf. I'd love for her to give me lessons on how to wear them. I like your coffee pot with attitude. I want to sit next to those old women. I have the perfect hat.

    1. I love hats, Heike thinks they're awful! If I bind a scarf round my head I look like lost and never found. I can paint things that I can never do in real life! Let's stick to hats!

  16. Such a great idea to add some texture to your portrait piece today in this way. I love the thought of this necklace and the piece that hangs off the side of her many coloured turban. Lovely colour palette and fabulous idea. Plus your funnies/thinkies are great too.

  17. What a colourful lady, Valerie, bright and attractive, ready to face the world with sassy confidence. Just like the three lovely women I spent the day with yesterday. It was sunny and warm, not hot, a perfect day to stroll around the wetland and the birds responded appropriately. We had a great lunch together too, and then, very patiently I read in the car while they checked out the thrift store for bargains! Such is the nature of excitement these days! It was great to spend time with old friends though, all of them charming in their own way. I am still having problems with my car and have to take it in again today. Aargh! I think I will be parting company with VW if and when I buy another vehicle. Say hello to Heike for me - hugs and kisses - David.

    1. Hi David, glad you enjoyed your walk with your three lovely ladies, and I'm sure they enjoyed your stroll around the wetlands, even if the thrift store was such a magnet. All women need to look in case there's a bargain waiting in a dusty corner.... I always look around and go out empty handed but sure in the knowledge that I didn't miss a potential bargain! Ja, that's the way the cookie crumbles! Big hugs! Xxxxxxx

  18. I definitely see myself in the white cat... exactly like that!
But I was also just in the strawberry field and made a pot of jam...
But actually I don't have to apologize at all. Lounging around like that - isn't it wonderful.
    Hug to you Viola.

    1. Thanks Aimeslee, sometimes I need to play! The trend today seems to go to copying others and not being originals. The youngsters I see are always same-same, no originality at all! I'm having a rest day, and I am going to enjoy it! Hugs, enjoy your day, Valerie
