Travel

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time the lovely Valerie is hosting - that's me! My theme is travel - any tags to do with travel are welcome - vehicles, boats. planes, busses, trains, places where you would like to be etc. I have three tags to start off my challenge:

London - my birth place and my favourite place on earth. I was born more or less where the left hand of the marching guardsman is:

It's aways fun to travel to new places in good company:

And Paris is perhaps my 2nd favourite place on earth, whatever the season:

Our challenge runs for 2 weeks, and I am looking forward to seeing your ideas for my travel theme!

Thanks to Michele, for hosting our last challenge, and to all who made wonderful hat tags and linked to us!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Valerie

  4. Well I did tour the Tower of London and Jack the Ripper Museum, so I've been close to your birthplace! Was it a hospital or at home birth? Love your tags, I need to think about some summer travel themes. Hope you are feeling better! XOX

    1. Oh yes, you were indeed close! It was a home birth, my aunts acted as midwives and delvered me, that was quite normal back then! I'm still very tired and a new medication is making me itch, not nice! Have a great day!

  9. Not to be too pedantic here, Valerie, but the plural of bus is buses. Busses indicates kissing and that is very agreeable too, and I am quite sure that many people buss on buses. If Donald Trump happens to be a passenger he will do it whether you want it or not! Of course, you have to be his type, and then he will swear he never met you. As host of this travel-themed week I shall expect great things from you. The last time I was in London I have to say it was not an especially agreeable experience. Everything was incredibly expensive, ridiculously so in fact, it was so crowded in places you could barely move and they had scared off the pigeons in Trafalgar Square. How heinous is that? I have not visited Paris in so many years I don't feel qualified to comment, but the strikers are slowly burning it down anyway. In general, if I never saw a city again - any city, anywhere - it would be too soon! Give me a green meadow, a leafy forest or a serene shoreline any day. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Towns everwhere these days are crowded, extravagant, luxurious and very exensive, not for normal people any more. As Boris Johnson said, 'If peole can't afford to live in London anymore they should go somewhere else'! I mostly stay in my corner of the world these days, I love this tiny town with the Rhine, fields, horses, farm animals, flowers and room to breathe. But I woud like to go to London once again if I can manage it. And of course, I only wrote BUSSES to see if you woud notice it! Have a great day, take care, hugs xxxxx

  10. Hi Valerie, I had no idea you were born over here. I recognise some of those Tim Holtz stamps you used and now I'm feeling guilty again as they have not seen the light of day for ages. I've been to both those places but not for some time though Covid hasn't helped. Off to see my mum today. Wishing you a very happy creative week. Hugs Angela xXx

    1. Yes, I come from London and studied in Lincoln and then Nottingham. And I taught in Lincoln and then Scunthorpe! I am slowly finding some of my stamps again and trying to use them! Hugs, Valerie

  12. Lovely tags. They would make very cool luggage/stickers. People don't seem to do that any more. Put stickers of the places they have visited on their luggage.

    1. Thanks. Back in the 60s we always put those stickers on our cases. Today people send pics with WhatsApp to show where they've been!

  14. I see the British mysteries and imagine myself living in London. I'm afraid it's far beyond my financial reach especially given how real estate there is now, but my imagination is good ;)

  23. I am with you on Paris being a favourite place. Especially in spring time. I always think Paris is one of the most romantic places to visit. That is a lovely tag you have made to share with us your love of the city.
I think, although London would not be my first choice, that the tag you made is my favourite. It is so full of life and energy and I love the little child you have included. Such a fabulous post Valerie, glad you chose such a great theme.

  25. Your travel tags are great, Valerie! I didn't realize that you were born in London. I was under the impression that you were German. I love London, too, and Paris any time of the year. The people in both cities have been welcoming and warm to me. I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite city, but it might be Florence. You chose an excellent topic for Tag Tuesday.
