Thursday / Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

This morning I went to visit my friend Heike for a few minutes, and didn't get home till half past five! We decided to go out again for a meal in our fave restaurant, and enjoyed ourselves! And here is the proof - I had a huge sausage - David, don't be jealous - with mashed potatoes:


And Heike hat Kassler with green beans in a creamy sauce:


We drank our non alcoholic Weizen beer as always:


And for my  anything goes challenge at AJJ I have an A3 humming bird drawn in soft pastels:






And some thinkies /funnies:

    It sounds like you had a really fun day. And I'm glad you shared your lunch because it looks delicious. So doesn't Heiki's lunch. It's good to have friends, isn't it?     It's still Wednesday here, but I am gad to FINALLY be catching up. You can have the sausage and I'll eat the mashed potatoes. Now I'm really hungry!

    Wow. LOVE that hummingbird. It's a beauty. Love the soft pastels, too. Thanks for the inspiration and great entry using your theme at AJJ.

    Great thinkies. LOVE the dragonfly wing and the cats in heaven. That's pretty true, too. Enjoy your end of week, dear Valerie.

    Gosh, those beers have a really good head on them, looks delicious - food too. What a sausage! Not sure what the meat is but I like the look of the potatoes on your friend's meal. Glad you had a fun day out.
    The hummingbird pastel drawing is so pretty, soft and gentle and very well done.
    Thanks for the thinkies/fiunnies, the dragonfly wings are beautiful, what a fabulous background for a piece of your work they would make.

      Thanks so much! Our beer tastes great and has no alcohol, so win win! My sausage was very delicious, and the meat Heike ate - Kassler - is a sort of cured pork, very tender and juicy! Hope all is well with you! Hugs!

    OMG there you are sausage-noshing again, with Heike as your accomplice. I shall have to remember that if ever you come to visit me " for a few minutes" to set aside the whole day and have a kilo of sausage on hand. I am not sure yet what I might have. Your beer may be non alcoholic, but my wine will be the real thing! Congratulations, Valerie, on your foray into the world of hummingbird art. Well done! It is not so long ago that I was enjoying the real thing in Cuba. You will have to join me there, bring your sketch pad, and you will expand your renditions in great measure, all the while sipping from a coconut shell. I'll investigate whether we can find Cuban sausage for dinner. Perhaps it will bring out the "wurst" in you! (Groan!). I shall look forward to your next post with great enthusiasm. Cuba sounds delightful, but I don't think I'll make it in this life, perhaps in the next one! I had fun with the hummingbird, I must try to do more.     I haven't had a German sausage since 1969-1970, when I lived in Munich for 1-1/2 months in the freezing cold. Wanting one now. I love that humming bird. Very nicely done in soft colors.

    Oh your food looks delicious ... I had to look Kassler up on Google, but once I knew what it was, I though I would have to try some of that:) And non alcoholic wheat bear is a new one on me as well ... and I am guessing I would love it. Your pastel humming bird is delightful and, of course, I love your Funnies and Thinkies. The cat angels are my favorite and I see my Chachi and Fonzi sitting amongst the others waiting for their dinner, Ha! Your Dragonfly Wings are amazing ... natures stained glass. You are so much fun, Valerie ... everyone enjoys your sense of humor along with your many other talents.
