Thursday/Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. I have been resting a lot, was able to take a few short walks, and am trying to regain my strength I just need some more patience....

Today I have a tag for Michele's spooky challenge at Tag Tuesday. This is a hybrid tag. The background is a painting of Stonehenge that I made myself a few years ago, with a photos of my balcony blackbird and some digital elements, including Freddy! The background paper is from Gecko Galz:

And I have a piece I started before I went into hospital after the FB taster lesson from Jennifer Bonneteau. Her painting was dreamy and beautiful, mine not quite so.... I painted my face over a mixed media page made some time back. I am linking to Elle's Tell me a story challenge at AJJ. My story is that the lady wakes up in a painting and can't find her body.... I used diluted acrylic paints and paint pens:

This was the sunrise this morning:

Some funnies /thinkies:

The beautiul pot of roses was from my neighbour Gabi:

I am linking to Rain's TADD - the lady who has lost her body,
Nicole's FFO - faces, and
Gillena's Friday art fun.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Your portrait is really good. I didn't do that one. If I remember rightly, she uses a lot of water to float the paint across the page. I really like your interpretation of it. Glad to hear you're taking it easy. Regaining your strength. Just give yourself time to recuperate. Sending hugs. Deb.

    1. Thanks Deb. Last ear when I did the tasters I tried to make them the same as the examples, this time I'm bolder and making my interpretations of the themes. Just taking it easy and doing what i can! Have a great day, hugs!

  10. Constantly in my garden and so annoying, I never thought I would be one of them but I am definitely a pigeon having seen your funny. Some great ones there Valerie.
Love your spooky halloween picture, very atmospheric and a great Freddie!
Your lady is, as always, beautiful. Her eyes are amazing as is the beautiful background with the butterflies and the watch face.
Best of all though is the news that you are improving daily and are now able to go out for little walks building your strength up. I hope you are still getting lots of rest as well. Lovely that you have such kind neighbours, the roses are so pretty.
    Take care, Hugs, Neet xx

    1. Thanks Neet. I don't like pigeons on my balcony either, they make such a huge mess and trample on my flowers! But yes, the Pigeon here is me, too! I had fun painting the face over the mixed media page, I like trying something different. Have a great day Neet, take care, hugs!

  11. I think that you should organize a group of bloggers, Valerie, and we will all go to Stonehenge and dance around in the rays of the sun, and chant and maybe even prostrate ourselves. It would all be very cathartic and would substitute for your short walks for a few days. Since it is Stonehenge, and Freddy is already there after all, a little human sacrifice would be in order. Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump would be first at the altar, and I have a whole list of others to follow. Let's just say that new elections will be necessary in Brazil, Hungary, Turkey, and several other countries! There! Be sure to consult the astrological charts and let me know the date. I will be there in my newly acquired Druid robes. It all sounds like such fun. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Oh yessssssss, I would love to dance around Stonehenge again, l just need a bit more energy. But I don't want to desecrate it with those vile people you mentioned, they should just be disposed of in a big toxic waste pit. Let's just enjoy dancing there with lots of good people. Have a great day, big hugs 🤗!

  15. I'm so sorry you've been feeling ill and glad that bit by bit you are regaining some energy. I'm in the same boat, post pneumonia. I did a short walk to the lab today -- only about 1000 steps -- and was out of breath. That's not me. But better than a week ago so onward. I love the art -- it's pretty. And your funnies are fun!

  18. I haven't done much at all from the tasters as i was in hospital. I have some printouts and pictures, and will try to do a few more from them, but first when I feel a little more normal! The balcony blckbird is really an old and faithful friend! Hugs!

  19. Hi Valerie! Oh wow! What a beautiful sunrise! And I love your funnies/thinkies, too! (the pigeon - lol!!) I really like the tag you made for Tag Tuesday - it's spooktacular!!! But my fav is the gorgeous work of art you made for Elle's AJJ theme! The woman's face is so beautiful and the story behind your art, too! It must have been so scary for her - not being able to find her body. I remember having an epidural and felt exactly that same way. Anyway, thanks for sharing all of your talents with us, Valerie. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers!! Hugs, Sharon

  26. You always create the most compelling faces, Valerie! Although I have to say this lady looks very calm for not being able to find her body. I'd be freaked out ~ lol. Your Halloween image is downright scary! Freddy has always been too intensely scary for me. Loved the funny about folding fitted sheets. I fight with the damn things almost every week. I've felt like that exhausted pigeon much of this past year, but I'm finally improving, even my double vision. I've had two infusions out of eight, for my eyes, and 'm thrilled I'm starting to see some improvement in my vision. I know you're going through a difficult time, but you'll get through your medical challenges too. Don't push too hard! One day at a time has been my mantra, and every day brings you one day closer to normal. Hugs to you!!!

  30. If I woke up and couldn't find my body, I would look far more desperate than your lovely lady who looks like she is a little perplexed, but still taking it all in stride. A lovely painting for sure. I love your tag ... very subtle and creepy as a Halloween tag should be.
I am glad you are recouping well, though I hope you have learned your lesson not to wait until the pain is unbearable. It sounds like a close call and I am so grateful you have pulled through it all. And yes, Thank Heavens for wonderful neighbors ... what would we do without them? And , you clever girl, I surely must have lost my pictures of "Lost" as I couldn't find any in my files :P Please, please do what your doctors have told you to do and stay well, you mean a great deal to all of us.
