Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a good weekend. We're still enjoying cool and rainy weather here, so lovely!

Today I have the last (for now!) of my moon ladies, I need to start on new themes! This was once again hard to photograph because of the metallic paint I used. As always, it's an A3 sheet painted with acrylics:

When I showed this baby owl on my blog recently, Neet asked me if I could make one of my hybrid pieces using it. So here, specially for Neet, a journal page assembled from 2 photos, a mouse image and a digital frame. I am linking to Neet's fur or feathers challenge at AJJ:

Some thinkies/funnies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. Your artwork is lovely again as ever. I know exactly what you mean about the difficulties of photographing metallic paints. Have you ever thought about making a short video? I did that on my blog, moving the painting around, and it really captured the shimmery quality of the metallic paint. Have a great weekend, Deb!

  6. Your lady today is very dramatic, Valerie. I am not familiar with the difficulties of photographing metallic paint, but you have done a great job it seems to me. It is so true that art is the basis of human experience. Before Lily was able to sing she would hum little tunes to herself, or maybe gurgle them would be a better description, but they were coming from within and had cadence, and she would smile. Now she will talk your head off! The weekend is here - enjoy! Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Hi David! Yes, art is the really the basis of human experience, even tiny tots sing and dance and enjoy it. Yes, the music of kids is sometimes strange, but you have to start off somewhere! And that's it, it comes from within. That is so important! I can imagine how much she talks these days. She looks like a little girl, not a baby anymore. Have a fabulous weekend! BIG hugs!

  7. Love your lady. I had no idea some of your portraits were on A3 paper - wow, I am impressed even more now. Love this one, bet she looks extra special in her metallic colours.
Oh Valerie, I am so honoured that you made a journal page using that cute little owl because I had mentioned I would love to see one. You have certainly done it proud and I just love the page, all the flowers and grasdses are lovely, it really is fabulous. The owl is so cute and you have included a little tiny field mouse to keep her company. An absolutely brilliant page, I love it so much.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  15. This is another lovely moon lady, Valerie. All those dots look like some beautiful stars. And that metallic hair glows like an almost full moon. And I think Neet was right to ask you to use that adorable baby owl image. The page came out great, and that little owl makes me smile. I hope you're having a great weekend. hugs-Erika

  22. Hi Valerie, another beautiful lady. The weather here is changeable but still quite sunny during the day though cooler now in the evening but not good for taking photographs. The UK is such a small island yet the weather can be so different depending on where you are. The little owl is so cute but the calf is beautiful. Happy crafting, Angela xXx

    1. Yes, that's true. Here the weather in Germany is also different everywhere. I grew up in London with lots of rain, flooding - we were near the docks - and smog but we only ever had snow once. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

  23. I'm sorry to have taken so long to visit. Friday I spent most of my day filling out questions for possible jury duty. Saturday I got sick from the heat when I went to an art fair, and I was so sick I don't even remember Sunday. Today I watched every minute of the Queen's funeral. I'm here now, though and LOVE your beautiful moon lady. She is really special. So is the owl that you created just for Neet. It is beautiful and I know she feels honored. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us honoring Neet's theme at AJJ.

Cats got a Lot of attention in the funnies, thinkies today. Loved them.
