Thursday /Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

The week is flying by again. It's cool and rainy here now, I'm enjoying it very much! Today I had a nice day with two friends, we had fun, ate too much cake and enjoyed a lovely meal this evening - wonderful!

Today I have an A3 piece to share that I made for Melanie Rivers lessson in Ida Andersen Lang's Art-Soul gathering. I am linking to Neet's fur or feathers challenge at AJJ, to Rain's Thursday Art Date, to Nicole's Friday Face Off, and Gillena's Friday Art Fun :

Some Thinkies / Funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. Hi Val, good morning! Glad you had a nice day out yesterday with your friends! Love the beautiful, blue lady, another fantastic painting! Here all is well, will send you a photo of S, her front teeth have grown and she is so proud of them! Hugs from us all, Sarah

    1. Hi Sarah, I am gad to hear about the teeth, she was not happy when she was toothless, although she looked so cute! I'm going to have a quiet day today, after the 'excitement' yesterday, I don't have much stamina these days. Hugs to all.

  4. I love your latest portrait from the midnight blue background to the tiny leaves in her hair. I think she must be a moon princess as she is portrayed against that delightful silver circle, or maybe she is a saint of the birds and that is her halo. Either way she is a powerful woman with that ever so well painted bird at her throat to me.
Love the pictures following, I feel just like Garfield so much of the time lately and i adore that little furry owl. Is there any way you can feature him in one of your hybrid journal pages? he is so cute.
I do hope you did not suffer after having a lovely day yesterday. Nothing is a better tonic than friends ... and cake. Sadly sometimes if we are not 100% it can take it out of us.
Take care and have a rest today and then a lovely weekend.
    Hugs, Neet xx

    1. Thanks Neet. Gone are the days when I could celebrate through the night and go to work the next day! Garfield is a great example! The cake was great and the meal out even better! I'm tired today. But it was worth it! I think the lady is a princess of the beautiful moon! Good idea to magic that pretty owl into a hybrid piece, I will see what I can come up with! Hugs!

  5. Cool and rainy sounds like just about perfect weather, Valerie. It is overall becoming a little cooler here but we have not had much rain, and we could really use some. I am happy to hear that you are out and about with your friends living the good life, wining, dining, burping, slurping. Good food and laughter go well together. That is one of life's constants. Great job with another maiden with haystack hair and a bird with a fearsome down-curved beak. The fact that she has leaves in her hair must surely make her a true child of nature and you can't get much better than that. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Oh yes, cool and rainy is very pleasant after all that heat, and the field behind our garden is turning green again, that's lovely. It was a great day yesterday, but I'm tired today, but it was worth it! Glad you like today's maiden, I had fun painting her! Have a great day, take care! BIG hugs!

  15. Your painting turned out truly lovely, Valerie. I did enjoy this session with Melanie Rivers, I love her way of teaching - so calm and kind and nice. I only did one other of the art soul gathering lessons and it went all wrong - I will show if tomorrow for Friday Face Off if I have enough courage. Your thinkies are spot on again, especially the last one. So so true. I'm glad that you spent a lovely day with friends, cake is always good, isn't it?

  19. Beautifully done lady. Love the Rumi quote around her collar. The green eyes are stunning. Garfield is one of my favs. Have all of his single books from the first to his last. Had a great day yesterday, if not a little slower than usual. I guess that goes with age. 😁😊

    1. I love Garfield, too, he's one of may faves, too. Glad you like the lady! I know what you mean about being slower - after the day out with my friends I had to rest the next day. We're getting old! Hugs!

  21. Once again, Valerie, you have hit a home run. Your art piece is awesome right down to the snake in the mouth of the Eagle :) And the little Madagascar Owl ... is that for real. Too adorable to be anything but a toy. Your "Thinkies" are superb, all of them. But the last is the best and oh so true. Of course Garfield is forever in my heart as I live with a Garfield cat who looks and acts just like the real Garfield. I love coming to see you, Valerie. You always put a smile on my face ...
