T sTands for Tag Tuesday and more

Hi Everybody!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend. We had a very wet one here, it literally never stopped raining. I still got out for my walks, and had to 'walk circumspectly' as the wet leaves underfoot were dangerously slippery, especially in combination with the old cobblestones in our little town. I am happy that the earth has at last had some copious amounts of rain, but some dry weather would now be appreciated!

This evening we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, I am hosting this time, and have chosen 'anything goes' as my theme. This means that tags of all sorts, large and small, real, digital, hybrid, and whatever the theme are all welcome. And there will be a little prize given to one random participant.

My first tag is a hybrid one. The head was made with hand-marbled paper and the moon is one of my photos. The other elements are from Serif, and it was assembled in my graphics programme:

This tag was made using a leftover piece from a master board made some time back. I LOVE using up scraps and leftovers! The texture was made with crinkled tissue, which was then painted and collaged with scraps of gold-leafing and vintage paper pieces. I didn't want to cover it all up, so just added one of my dried and glitter-glazed leaves and some natural bits from the garden together with some small feathers:

Today is also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday link party, which always starts on Monday evening just like Tag Tuesday. Here I would like to welcome all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang who visit. I did a lot of coffee drinking this week, even more than usual, and the weather was to blame! It was so wet we just needed to pop into cafes we passed on all the wet walks to dry out a bit!

My fave ice parlour cafe:

No, not 2 drinks for me - cappuccino is mine and Latte Macchiato for Nathalie:

Different cup, different cafe, this time we were at Guiseppe's in Oberkassel, where they always serve delicious burnt almonds with the coffee:

This is inside the cup:

Nathalie had peppermint tea:

This was in yet another cafe, Bazzar, in Düsseldorf. Nathalie had dressed up really stylish. The third coffee was for my lovely friend, Nelya, who joined us there:

Nathalie made another of her fun photos where the wrinkles all get taken away - not that she needs it!:

And yes, another cafe - we sheltered from the rain and wind in cafe Burghof, next to the castle ruins:

But I do love the atmosphere on these wet and grey autumn days:

This was taken on the street where I live:

Some trees are still green and leafy, others are almost bare:

We went for a (wet) walk through the woods and round the lakes in Duisburg and there were lots of fungi:

And as I write this post I'm drinking coffee - what else?

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. Yup, it was damp and horrible here too, still is today. I love your witch head, with all that magic swirling around inside her and the autumn tag is just magical too. Fabulous feathers and leaves and amazing texture in the background.

Glad you managed to get out and about despite the weather - even if it did mean lots of stopping for coffee! - and the fungi photos are wonderful.

  4. I think that the local coffee marketing board should be sending you a cheque! The shot of the fungi in the old tree trunk is really quite wonderful. Good job!

  5. The tags are great. I especially love the colors of the scrap tag with the leaf. Your photos are just enchanting to look at. Funny how rain at home is so depressing but looking at rain from places far from home is beautiful. The red berries on the trees on your street are so vibrant and I love how the mushrooms look like fairy staircases. Enjoy your day

  9. I do love how your textured piece looks and appreciate hearing how you accomplished that :) Nathalie's hat is a treasure! You just can't beat a good hat. Your seasonal nature photos show me how much further along in Autumn you are than we are here. Happy T Day.

  10. A great Halloween head and the textured Autumnal tag is absolutely fabulous.
Wonderful photos from your walks, we've just had a week in the Lake District and were very lucky - it rained mainly overnight with sunny days, although very muddy for walking.
Have a great week and I hope it stops raining.
    Avril xx

  14. Fantastic tags Valerie, the Halloween head looks amazing with the witch flying around .
All the photos looked lovely, if I were a coffee drinker I could have been tempted to one of those you shared in the photos.
The leaves are wet and slippery here as well, they blow about in the wind and the pathways never seem to be clear of them at this time of the year.
    Happy T day wishes.
    Yvonne xx

  15. Your first tag is funky and fun, Valerie. I'm partial to the second one, which really says autumn to me. I love all the layers and texture.

Nathalie could be a model. I love the photo of her smiling straight at the camera in her very stylish black hat.

With beautiful country lanes like that, I can see why you walk about so much. We have cobblestones here as well, but they're not level or well maintained. In fact, they're quite treacherous and create a lot of business for orthopedic surgeons!

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  19. I really love your tags and artwork, beautiful colours and textures. You take great photos, the ones of the mushrooms in the tree are brilliant, it’s a great time of year, the colour of the trees are amazing, unfortunately our son’s next door neighbours tree fills his gutters! His front garden is also under a mountain of leaves even though we have already filled the bins
    Enjoy your week, jan x

  22. I was here hours ago and just started to leave a comment when I got an urgent call from my friend Sally. I have been with her for over six hours, and am now back to let you know how much I like your tags today. Your scraps are SO much prettier than my scraps. I love that tag, as well as the one with the face. You have been making those faces and putting them to such good use. This is another one. I like the swirls that show such movement, too.

You have had a LOT of coffee this week. I love that you and Nathalie share so much time together. I liked her mint tea, but of course, I love seeing your various cappuccinos. You could be an advertisement for coffee in Germany.

Your walks are beautiful, even in the rain. You live on an absolutely gorgeous street. Thanks for sharing the beautiful tags, your various walks in the rain, and yours and Nathalie's drinks with us for T this Tuesday.

I don't care much for Halloween things, but your textured tag is beautiful. I really like that. It depicts autumn for me.
Your photos from your walk are lovely, especially the mushrooms.
    Happy T-Day.
    Hugs,
    Lisca
