Hi Everybody!
It's still cold and very frosty here, but the days are longer, the sun has been shining, and nature seems to be leaning towards spring.
Today I have another A3 mixed media collage, once again using a napkin from our lovely Yvonne. I made it 2 week back when we having a lot of grey days and I needed some colour. The background was brayered with gesso with a hint of red and then stenciled with red using a CWS stencil.
I am linking to Paint Party Friday and to Simon Wednesday challenge, make your own background.
I love watching the sun rise up through the frosty mist:
The texture of the trees is amazing:
Spring flowers are emerging in spite of the frosty temperatures:
The crab apples are budding:
Catkins by the stream:
The Chinese laurel in the hedge is budding, too:
This was completely flooded a few weeks back:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I adore your spring collage and love the layers and pop of red, one of your beast!!! As usual I enjoyed my walk with you and your beautiful countryside!
ReplyDeleteLove your cheery and colourful page. Robins and red always make me smile. No flowers here, but that might be because I never planted anything....The kids love the frosty weather. Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHello dear Valerie!

Its a beautiful springtime mixed media page Valerie, I love the quotes you added and Mr Robin looks very happy on the page.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely, its especially nice to see the flowers budding, although it does seem quite early. Your season seems so much more advanced than ours.
Yvonne xx
Wow, the texture you created on your mixed media page with the gesso is amazing and I love the robin too 😁. Great photos, those blossoms are so beautiful! Enjoy the rest of your week! J 😊
ReplyDeleteLove the collage. Can do without the sentiment as I could happily skip over Winter and still enjoy the warmer weather =^,.^= Haven't spotted the robins here, yet. Your weather is so far ahead of weather here. Had two days of unusually warm temperatures, but couldn't find any buds just yet. Just as well as more snow is expected tomorrow. Thanks for the vicarious enjoyment of Spring.
ReplyDeleteAmazing project in this collage.
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed by your photos, you show the signs of spring coming your way with them and it's so nice to see. although our climate here is still in the 30+ celcius we can feel in the air it is turning to the next season...xx [aNNie]

Such a beautiful page Valerie and yesterday we were 'talking' to a robin. It was all very pleasant until Vic took his camera out and it flew away.
ReplyDeleteThe photographs are wonderful and I have saved the silhouette one with the birds in the tree--just superb photography.
Love Chrissie xx
That poor bird evidently doesn't like paparazzi!
DeleteThis is a really upbeat page Valerie! Love the robin singing his song! Yes, longer days are great aren't they? Love seeing the sunrise and the signs of Spring on your area!Hug,Chrisx

Wunderschön!! Lg aus Wien
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages, I like your words and gorgeous photographs, wow. You are lucky that spring arrives sooner there than here. I enjoy winter, especially this year with lots of snow and snowshoeing in a beautiful area, but Spring takes forever to arrive here. Take good care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteFaszinierende Bilder, liebe Valerie,
ReplyDeleteegal ob selbst gemalt oder fotografiert.

Viele Grüße
Sadie

Super mixed media and fab photos
ReplyDeleteLove the mixed media piece, it's so lovely to play with all sorts and your fun shines through. Lovely spring photos also.
ReplyDeleteLove this colourful page. Those reds are fabulous. I wish spring would hurry up and here, though. Still freezing in this part of the world.
ReplyDeleteGreat mixed media page Valerie, the red really makes it pop and who doesn't love a robin? Fantastic spring photos too. It's wonderful to see all of the signs begin to pop! Happy PPF to you :D
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful to see the beauty of nature in all it's glory, and that media page is bright and festive. Red is one of my favorite colors. Everything about it is so gorgeous. Happy Friday! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeletefab Springtime art- of course I love that pop of red on the page! Loving your beautiful sunrise and nature pics. It sure does look like Spring can't be too far away. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteYet another lovely piece of artwork. You never fail to amaze me. I agree that we appreciate spring even more because of winter, but I'm still very grateful that our winters are rarely harsh. Spring is breaking out all over here, too. Daffodils and hyacinths are blooming in our yard, and trees are budding all over the place. Pretty soon, we'll have so much pollen, we'll have to shovel it from our front porch. (A slight exaggeration, but not by much.)
ReplyDeleteYour sunrise photos are marvelous, as always. I like the one with the birds in silhouette, too. Very atmospheric. You told me a while back that I could use any of your pics for my book cover, and what I'm thinking about doing is getting my cover designer to add the silhouette of a barn swallow (with a forked tail) to one of the simpler sunrise pics. It would be absolutely PERFECT to accompany the story. :)
Have a super weekend.
Sounds great!
DeleteGorgeous photos of springs hope! I love that background and of course all the colour! Congratulations being featured at ppf! You are one of the most prolific contibutors!
