T stands for Tags and Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!
Hope you have enjoyed your Easter break. It's been very
cold and wet here, but I've been having a good time
resting, reading and arting.

At Go Tag Thursday the theme this week is
Easter / Spring, so I went with spring. I used some printed
acetate and some die cuts I was gifted some years
back, I think I have pulled them out at this time
of year more than once, but I can't remember who sent them
to me. The acetate was layered over some pink card, and then
placed onto recycled black card from an old calendar and some
white corrugated card. I stitched the layers together before
adding the die-cut fairy and the textile flower:

The new challenge at Tag Tuesday has been chosen by our
lovely  Wilma, and is 'heritage', as April 18th is World Heritage Day.
I hope you will join us there. I have several tags ready,
and the first shows the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The images
are from Crafty Individuals. The background paper was stamped
with a script stamp (LaBlanche) and a couple of mail art
stamps. I layered the tag onto various coordinating card pieces,
the last of which is mirri-card. Once again I sewed
everything together before adding the fibres and the
textile flower:

Elizabeth is hosting her weekly T stands for Tuesday party
at her blog, so a big welcome to all of the nice ladies
from the T gang.

I met up with friends a couple of times at the
ice parlour while the weather was warm and sunny
and was able to enjoy ice. I had a chocolate one, one of
the others had the delicious strawberry one:

I baked a loaf of wholemeal, sour dough bread:

My drink is, as always, cappuccino:

On Thursday we had a wonderful sunrise:

The pigeons were enjoying the early morning air:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Hi Val, wonderful tags again, your tags always have a very special touch which I love. Little R is going gaga over the first one! Great photos, too, the movement in the pic of the pigeons is fantastic. I think I could eat both of those ice portions! Hugs, Sarah

  10. Your first tag is the perfect depiction of spring. And when I saw your Paris tag I just swooned a bit because that is indeed one of my favorite cities. The desserts you shared are so beautiful. Oh, I'd like to taste each and every one!

  11. Wow! That sunrise is awesome! What beautiful colours!
Your tags are beautiful. The little angel looks familiar. I think I had some decoupage pages with them on it.
I am drooling at your ice cream! They are both so scrummy that I wouldn't know what to choose.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  14. The adorable fairy is precious. I am impressed that you have saved her so long. She's a beauty. Of course, I knew Linda (along with Patty and Chris) would love the Paris tag. Simply out of this world with all the layers and layers. I actually counted six layers in that one. And your very neat, NOT wonky sewing, too.

Loved seeing the pigeons in flight. That was fun. The sunrise was beautiful and welcomes spring, too.

But the ice cream looked the best. I am off to find something sweet to eat, right after I post this. Of course, I'll join you for a cappuccino, too. And I'd even have a piece of that wholemeal bread. It looks quite yummy.

Thanks for sharing these tags, your photos, your ice cream, your bread, and your cappuccino with us for T this Tuesday. I bet you are sleeping about now, too.

  16. OK, I now really want an ice cream sundae-either chocolate or strawberry would work. :)Cool new tag challenge theme-I have to find my box of blank tags so I can join in since good intentions don't make finished tags. :) And the flying doves in that photo are really cool. Hope you enjoyed your quiet day and that your new week is starting off great. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  19. Beautiful Spring Fairy Tag, and also the Paris Tag - it's always fun to look closely at everything you use to make these precious artworks and so I appreciate those extra photos you post.
Mmmmm, delicious confections - I'd be torn as to which one to choose... and would have to come back each day until I tasted all ;D)
Gorgeous glowing brilliant sunrise! Oh how lovely. Now, Valerie, you may think I'm crazy, but in a lot of those sunrise photos the shapes of some of the lower leaves, silhouetted against the sky, are a little like birds... it struck me straight away - or am I perhaps a bit too fanciful!!!
I love to see those Pigeons as well, we really enjoy our Pigeons and Doves here in our garden.
Your sourdough looks so hearty - I can imagine it still warm from the oven with butter.. oh goodness! Cappucino is always a winner.
Cheers now and thank you for your wonderful art and photos. Have a really lovely week :D)

Those ice creams are quite something WOWEE ... it is special in Europe when you order a dish of ice cream because they often add the cookie waffle fans...miss that here in the states.

  22. Good Morning Valerie.... What beautiful tags....AND the icecream!!! YUM! Have you ever had spaghetti icecream??? At least thats what we called it when we were stationed in Germany for three years... Ice cream was put thru a press and came out in noodle like pieces then a strawberry topping added and it looked like spaghetti...maybe that was just for us Americans?? Anyway... LOVE your post and your sunrise.. Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb

  25. You go from funky heavy thinking to whimsical with a very light heart in one breath of air. I love the way you can span the moods and emotions of most people! I love this Valerie - the fairy one. She is so sweet and your layers all look gorgeous. Your heritage tag is spot on as is that wonderful looking bread you baked. You have more energy!
Your sundae looks so delicious and I have to admit, I probably would have been tempted by the strawberry one!!!

  26. So much (tag)inspirataion here. You're tags are terrific, Valerie. I love all the layers an the zig-zag stitching. I just got a new sewing machine. I really should give that a try! My old Kenmore didn't do much fancy stitching.

Gorgeous photos. Those two pigeons look so stately - like they're having a very serious conversation - lol.

I'll pass on dessert this week. I have to make up for Easter dinner ;-)

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
