Hi Everybody!
For Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote, I have a quick page I made by stenciling over a red and black brush wipe page with DI and adding a quote, quick and easy on a very busy day. I think the poor chappie is suffering from the heat.

It's Tuesday again, which means, of course, that it's Tag Tuesday.
Our theme this week is 'Away with the fairies'.
I used a flower fairy image, placed on a background made with a punch, over a piece of floral cardboard from some packaging. I added a fairy dog with butterfly wings and some embellishments. I can't pretend to be happy with the tag, but I never had time to start on another one - that's what comes of leaving things till the last minute!
I made this little heart recently for a friend. I covered a polystyrene heart with tissue paper. The sentiment was stamped with archival black and embossed, and I found a fitting stamp in my stamp box. I tied it all up with string and added a home made paper bead. A whole group of us made different hearts to support a friend here who is going through a bad patch just now.
Tomorrow we have a new challenge starting at MOO Mania and More
so please come by and read all about it!
The day started off with a beautiful sky and sunrise
I went down to the Rhine for my walk
This plane was coming in low over the trees:
I enjoyed crunching through the shingle and climbing over the stones:
The cormorant was keeping watch, as always
I made some art on the beach, and got asked by a passer by if I wasn't too old for such things, so I said, 'No!'
The Raven went for a paddle in the Rhine and got quacked at by the duck who evidently thought it was his territory:
All in all a most enjoyable walk.
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by
Oh I love that heart!
ReplyDeleteA striking zebra and charming tags, love the dog!
what a sweet gift of hearts. Lovely page and tag and enjoyed the sunrise clouds.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun post with lots to see. The zebra looks like he is fading in the heat, and I love the idea of a fairy dog. Great idea with the heart, and lovely photos, as always. Love your beach heart, too. Hugs, Sarah

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Idea special heart is Valerie-you are so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThe art page is magic with the great colours and quote and the wonderful zebra as well.
Gorgeous tag as well with such a pretty image and the fairy dog--very original for sure.
Superb photographs as always and all worthy of prizes I'm sure. You are never too old to do anything that you can do without being in danger, Sometimes it is even good to live a little dangerously as well :)
Have a great day and I hope you have the lovely sunshine that we have here.
Hugs Chrissie xxx
Busy times for sure! The zebra looks stunning in his African heat background, love the sweet fairy image (would love to know where you found that (I need to make a card for a child and it would just be perfect for that...). Great heart too!

Deletebut I'm still commenting on her fabulous blog.
DeleteMea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, I wanted to reply and deleted it by mistake. Put it down to old age and too much work!
DeleteHa, ha, I would love to have seen the passer by's face, some people have no sense of fun! The heart is such a lovely thoughtful idea and I do love a flower fairy! A beautiful sunny day here, hope the sun shines for you! Xx

ReplyDeleteSome people...♥ your sand drawing and the words are perfect too.
Your zebra creation is very thoughtful and we all have days like that I think.
Sweet tag with that little flower fairy (I enjoy that series and have a book that belonged to my Mutti)

Thank you for your visit to my Magpie's Nest so sorry to hear about your past poison ivy encounter...it must have been dreadful
All of today's projects are great! I do love the fairy dog but my most favorite is the heart you made for your friend. ♥♥♥♥ Great photos again :) Love the duck quacking at the raven :)
ReplyDeleteWow. What a feast for the eyes you have given us today, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteYour page is so beautiful and sad. I remember feeling like that once, for a long time in fact. So glad that phase is over.
You might not be pleased with your tag, but I think it is all kinds of lovely. What a cool, quirky inspiration to add wings to your dog. True Valerie style me thinks. :)
Your twine-tied heart is sweet and rustic. I love the paper bead. I have to figure out how to use the ones I made some time ago.
The first few of your sky photos are stirring. I can almost picture angels dashing from place to place.
Thanks for all of the great inspiration, but what does that have to do with a bad hair day? I must have missed that part. Anyway, have a great rest of your day.
Hugs,
Teresa
