Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a great weekend. It's raining just now, but better than this humid heat we've had the past days. However, we have to take it as it comes and be thankful that it isn't worse!
Today I have another piece for Halle's challenge at AJJ. Buttons and bows are often very necessary when sewing:
And for Michele's challenge at Tag Tuesday I have a tag. Her theme is celestial. I have used a painting of Stonehenge made some years ago as a birthday present for myself. My birthday is on the day of the moon solstice, the shortest day and longest night in the year. Many 'Druids' and others gather there to celebrate, so this was my celebration. The tag has been cut from a copy and placed on another copy as background. Hope you like it:

DeleteYou always have so many interesting things to share in your posts and I enjoy marveling over the creativity and funnies that bring smiles, chuckles and surprises. That bird is just stunning as well as your buttons and bows creation, but that tag is amazing too! Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy the rain. DeleteGood morning, Valerie: Let me first apologize for being so late this weekend, but yesterday I escorted and educated, led well and led astray, a group of avid birders to enjoy the delights to be found along the North Shore of Lake Ontario. By the time we returned home and had dinner it was after 8pm and we relaxed and watched the anticlimax of Trump losing part of his ear. Now, to your bird, another remarkable discovery, of course. It is clearly in the dipper family, and displays such a startling black-and-white pattern that it shows once again just how striking birds bedecked in these two most basic colours can be, stunningly different from others and uniquely beautiful. I have pondered a name for this species (hitherto unknown to science of course), and I have concluded that the time has arrived when Heike should be honoured with species named after her. So, Heike’s Dapper Dipper is what I have chosen. I am sure she will like it. As for the scientific name, given Heike’s proclivity to hoist large glasses of beer, it shall be known as Cincla bigsteinum. I expect that she will be having tee shirts made featuring her new emblem, and I will look forward to seeing her modelling one at the restaurant table. It is another remarkable discovery, Valerie, and your place in the universal pantheon of ornithological heroes is assured. Now Heike will join you! Hugs and kisses - David
