What makes me happy #4 - more faces, of course!

Hi Everybody!

This was a quick practice face made recently, I'm still trying to do different angles and colours etc. I wasn't fond of this colour scheme, so I used it to make a 2nd version which was altered in my digital programme. I am linking to Matilde's 'what makes me happy' challenge at AJJ:

And more faces, funnies and thinkies ready for Friday:

And one espcially to help dear David:

Some David Zinn pics:

And more of my photos:

Have a great Thursday / Friday! I will be linking to Nicole's FFO and Gillena's  AFF on Friday.

  3. I like seeing your faces. What I first noticed about this one is the gold earring and shadow. OK, why I saw that first, I can't say. I like the face, and how you altered it. And you have some great thinkies today. The Mark Twain is too (sadly) true, and the dandelion one made me smile. That's always a good thing. I hope you have a great rest of the workweek. hugs-Erika

  5. Hi Val, good morning! I love both versions of your face. The digital one is more 'your' colours, but they are both great. And I like that you always experiment. Mark Twain has really nailed it, and stupidity seems to be on the increase these days! Have a great day, take care, hugs, Sarah and all!

  6. Your ladies are beautiful with their long necks. I have NO neck, so that's why I notice yours. I can see why they make you happy. They are great for Matilde's theme at AJJ, Valerie.

I LOVE the bird meme. I could tell they were all birds, too, but not what kind. David Zinn's art was quite enjoyable today. Have a great weekend.

    1. Long necks are so nice, I wish I had one, too! David seems to be happy with the chart, so happy to help him! Have a nice day, hugs!

  7. Thank you very much for this helpful chart, Valerie, to aid with my bird identification struggles. I am resolved to use this daily and it will doubtless have benefits yet unknown. I have several presentations coming up over the balance of June and doubtless this added knowledge, and the ease of acquiring it will add greatly to their professionalism. Power Point is really going to have power! I’ll let you know how often I get invited back! Your face is as always fabulous, the stuff of dreams, a source of fantasy, a pleasure in every way. Maybe I’ll make a slide and insert it into my presentation, call it a bird, and see if anyone notices. Here we are - Thursday already. I have to visit the Volkswagen dealer this morning since my car is giving me headaches. I have been a loyal VW customer for over twenty years, but this may be the last car of theirs. It has not been nearly as reliable as the previous two, and everything is so electronic today it’s almost impossible to fix even the simplest things yourself. Stay well! Hugs and kisses - David

  8. Painting faces makes you happy and it's a gift when you're able to bring happiness to your own well being with painting. Each face is somehow different and they're all interesting and amazing. Wishing you a great day today filled with happiness and lots of smiles. A good cup of coffee helps too though, right? LOL

  10. The "then and now" was fabulous - so true and reminded me of mum when I was young. Did I say those things to my now grown up son?
Absolutely fabulous funnies and thinkies - the little fish is so cute and so are the Zinnies, especially the one that is about to press the button. Earl has to have a mention as I really enjoyed that cartoon. Oh heck, I love them all and your photos - well what can I say?
Love your face again and really love the enhancement done digitally, wish I could do more like that on the computer. Her hair is so like a luscious piece of chocolate.

    1. Thanks Neet. Earl is always good, I love those cartoons. And as you say, I think we were treated to some of the comments from the right side as children, but I never used expressions like that with my daughter. At school teachers used to wash our mouths out with carbolic soap if we used a swear word, and it was not nice! The only teacher who was different was our art teacher, she used to swear a lot, and we enjoyed it! Hugs!
