Thursday/Friday post

Hi Everybody!

Another short post today, I am still very exhausted!

The blossom exploding everywhere on the trees inspired the lady with white flowers. Avril gifted me the die-cuts some time back, thanks again! The lace is part of a doily used to serve bread here in the kitchen, so I rescued it afterwards, too good to throw away! I used A3 paper and acrylic paints. I am linking to my spring challenge at AJJ and to Paint Party Friday, which will soon be closing down - so sad!

And some spring pictures:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Hi Val, good morning. Slowly but surely we are nearing completion here in my kitchen, and that makes me happy. Love today's page with the beautifu blue/white theme, so delicate, really reminiscent of blue skies and white blossoms. Have a great day, hugs from us all, Sarah

  5. I am sorry to hear that you remain exhausted, Valerie, but I am glad to see your post pop up in my feed. I have done many things in my life, had many adventures, a couple quite harrowing, I have seen great sunsets and squalid streets, wet my feet in most of the world's oceans and dripped with perspiration in hot, steamy jungles, i have trod woodland paths, and marched along rainforest trails, I have come fave to face with poisonous snakes and Koalas, I have seen babies born and sages die, but I have never rescued a used doily for any reason at all. This all goes to prove, (as if it needed proving) that you craftspeople are a breed apart. Since I am not a member of this sisterhood, I wonder how I came to follow so many of you? A whole new world has opened up to me. Thanks today for another long-necked beauty and birds and animals too. What a great way to start my day. I will have to be on the lookout for used doilies. Perhaps I'll bring one home just to say I could! Hugs and kisses, David

    1. Hi David. I read your post whileeating and had to laugh out loud at your comment of not yet having salvaged used doilies! Yes, we crafters are a sisterhood apart, and I think secretly you learn to salvage lost doilies, stitch scrap paper on to old book pages, put some colour on it, and call it art! If you decide to try this nobel endeavous, I am sure you will be gracefully received into our sisterhood! And if the doily has coffee or grease spots on it, wonderful. Then you don't need to distress it by the artful technique of splattering it with coffee or gravy or whatever! I think we are all really a bit crazy, but hey, who cares! Have a fab day, take care, big hugs!

  7. I LOVE today's face Valerie. The contrast of the blue and white, the white being those great die cuts, and that rescued piece of lace work amazing well together. They scream spring too. This is a beauty. I hope you get some rest, but this piece definitely says you still have it. Hugs-Erika

  10. Your spring beauty is perfect with her long neck and die cut bits. Love how you saved part of the doily. I have done the same for years. Now I don't go places where they serve them. I agree she looks like a spring goddess. Thanks for another great entry for AJJ using your theme.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth, the kitchen here often serves things with doilies underneath, so I have been colecting them - too good to throw away!

  17. such a beautiful post. Both the lady and the nature spring shots. Our spring is not that far yet. Love the lady and the use of different things. I had to smile when I noticed you used a part of a doily as I did that a bit earlier. It is soo cool we can use anything for our art. :) I just wish I had some or the flower die-cuts.

  21. She's incredibly beautiful Valerie as she peeps through her lacy veil. I can see why you would be inspired by the blossom everything seems to have blossomed earlier than usual this year. Wonderful photo shares, the wee rabbit looks happy in his outdoor habitat.

  22. A very beautiful page Valerie and a great way to use the doily, too many items get thrown out when folk cannot see beyond their primary use. I hope you are not feeling so tired today, everything takes time as we get older.
    Be safe and get well.

  32. Hi Valerie

Thank you so much for being such a valuable contributor and partyer with PPF! I wish we'd been able to feature more of your work but your current setting don't allow us to copy your images to put in our posts - we've always felt bad about that but are also always doing the post at the last moment so we just move on to the next random selection. :( Any chance you could email us a collage or fave for this week to add?
Your lady is lovely - great re-use! I hope your health issues get resolved/treated and you are back to your normal self quickly!
It's been wonderful to see all your gorgeous photos and creations!
