Thursday/Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. Mine is flying by like crazy. Today I am sharing another piece for my challenge about doors at AJJ . This piece was made from leftovers. The blue painted cardboard was left over from something or other, as was the pink. I cut a heart from the pink card, glued the pieces together, and doodled the flowers. I added 2 left over stick-ons:

This another girl inspired by #Effy Wild in her Journal 52. I liked how his one turned out. I am linking to Paint Party Friday:

Have a great da, take care,
and thanks for coming by!

  1. What a wonderful door and idea today Valerie. The idea of opening your heart is fantastic. Too bad more people don't do that. And your lady is another beauty. You really can draw and paint fantastic faces. She is quite dreamy. And I had to laugh at the reindeers skating and the ice hole. That's a good one. The week is flying by; you are right. Hope yours is going well and the fingers are improving. Hugs-Erika

  10. The way to my heart is through a garden filled with birds, of course. I hope there is a table there where I can sit and enjoy a glass of wine with some fine cheese and fresh bread. I will, as you might imagine, toss a few morsels to the birds who would doubtless recognize me as their friend and admirer and visit in great numbers. Then, Valerie, I would pass through that garden of delight to experience the delights of this long-necked beauty you have created. OMG! She has allure and mystery to spare! When I see these rare beauties that you bring to us on a regular basis, I am starting to wonder what you will do with men if ever you decide that they too deserve to be the subject of your creative imagination. The sequence with Hercules is really funny. Made Miriam laugh too. She says that only a guy could go to all that trouble, and huffing and puffing, and muscle flexing. She says a woman would have it done in ten seconds! There's more than a little chauvinism in her utterings, I think. Yesterday we had our booster shot so we as armed as we can be to fight COVID, Delta, Omicron and whatever else comes along. And we don't even have the strength of Hercules. Stay well, stay strong, nurse your fingers, drink coffee, say a kind word to everyone you meet. Hugs and kisses. David

    1. I'm glad you appreciate the delights of my paintings, feel free to sit in my garden with your wine and bread! Even the birds here talk about David, I think they're hoping you'll come over and spoil them. My balcony birds eat huge amounts each day. Hmm, perhaps I could have a few tries with men, send me a photo so I can practise! Getting a pill down a cat's throat isn't easy, but delicacies like a nice, oily sardine help more than force! I get my booster on Jan. 12th, so have to wait a bit. But I don't meet up with people very often, so hope that helps! I always have a kind word for other people, WTF do you think? Have a great day, listen to Miriam's words of wisdom! Hugs to you both, Valerie

  16. OMG "Ice Hole"...that had me laughing too long hee hee...reminds me of a Simpsons episode where they were doing a parody of the pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock...Homer sees land from the ship and cries out "Land 'Ho!" and Marge says "what did you call me?" Anyway, I digress...your lady is beautiful Valerie, I love her eyes! ♥

  17. I adore your open door heart Valerie. It's beautiful, has great importance, and a wonderful way to show an open heart. Your lady is beautiful. Possibly one of my favorites ever. What a LONG neck she has, too.

Loved Hercules and the lion. That reminds me of the vet who tried to give Dog a pill. I just turned Dog on his back and he opened his mouth. I had given Dog a Vitamin E capsule every day since I got him at six weeks. The vet was amazed. Hope you are feeling better and your fingers are getting some rest.
