Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a happy weekend. Make
it a good one!

This is my last piece for my heavy metal challenge at AJJ. Thanks to all who played along with this challenge, I very much enjoyed seeing your creations.
The heads were cut from black card and stenciled with a gold pen:

Some more photos from the boat trip through Duisburg Harbour, the largest river harbour in Europe:

An old paddle-steamer:

The ancient harbour:

That's all for today.
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. What a diverse collection of landscapes today, the ancient and modern, the industrial and natural. I have been watching Landscape Painter of the Year on Sky Arts, and your diversity reminds me of some of those episodes

  9. I may have had gold birds flying in my mind, Valerie, but I am quite sure they have never flown across my face! Very creative finale to your metal page theme and the messages are oh so true too. Perhaps soon it will be possible once again to cruise down the waterways of Germany. In recent years Rhine cruises have been very popular with North American tourists and I know of several people who have taken them and enjoyed them greatly. However, cruising in general may have taken a fatal hit during the pandemic, and people may be very reluctant to confine themselves on ships with others, with the memory of the recent nightmares fresh in their mind. Enjoy the weekend. Hugs and kisses, David

  11. It appears I'm once again running behind visiting your blog. I'll be by tomorrow (Sunday) to catch up on what I've missed. At least that's the plan, anyway, Valerie.

  12. Your heads are always a favorite of mine Valerie, and I really like how you used black and the gold. The gold really pops. And I how you used the honeycomb in the brain. All those bits of info stored away. And mine brain is certainly birds and stars because I have always been told my head is in the clouds. Anyhow, enough babble from me. Enjoy your weekend. Hope it is sunnier and not as wet as mine is. Hugs-Erika

  22. Very wise words on the heads and underneath. This is VERY inspiring and something I actually think about often - we can easily get caught up in success or failure (or our poor definitions of them). Love the pictures! Such an interesting place!!! Hugz
