Pastels, wheels and more

Hi Everybody!

Our new challenges at
always begin on the fifth of the month.
As always, we have an anything goes theme, this time
with the option of using pastel shades. You have four full weeks
to dream up your creations and link to us -
hope to see YOU there!

For my DT piece I used a 10" manila tag which I painted with
pastel pinks and a touch of turquoise.I collaged the right half
with paper napkin pieces in pastel
colours, and used iron paste (Pentart) through a stencil for the right half
to give a good contrast, as I find that pastel alone can sometimes look a bit
insipid.  I joined the 2 halves with some TH tissue tape,
and added a die cut sentiment and some flowers from my stash.
I sewed the tag onto a dark grey background.

This tag was made last week just for fun, as I wanted to try out my new
motor bike die, but then I saw that 'wheels' is the theme at
so I am linking to their challenge. I used 2 coordinating papers as background, and sewed them together. Then I took 2 smaller tags, on one of which
a motorbike was already stamped. I added more stamping, and
gave them some colour with peacock feather DI. Then I placed my
lovely motor bike in the centre, and it was done.

Last week in Zons we met this cheery lady out  shopping with her cat -
not a sight we see every day!

And some more views from the little streets, houses and shops:

The bunting is hanging because it is 'Schützenfest' - Marksmen's
festival, which takes place in all villages, town and districts
at this time of year.

Sabine and I are busy taking photos. The tote in the window says,
'Das Essen steht im Kochbuch, Schatz' - The food is in the cookery book,
darling!

This little alcove would have been used by the watch soldiers
in past centuries:

More photos to follow tomorrow!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  18. Always so many lovely textures and great details to see your tags Valerie -
the motorbike die is cool. Male themed items aren't always easy to find.
Great photos again - that cat seemed fairly big to be carrying around but it didn't seemed bothered so I guess it must have been happy.
