Hi Everybody!
For Paint Party Friday, for Simon Monday challenge,
add numbers, and Moo Mania, faces, I have an A4 mixed media
journal page.
The Mona stencil is from Stencilry.Org
And I have another mixed media tag, with many layers and a stenciled rose.
This time I needed a flat tag to send in a 'normal'
envelope, so in spite of using corrugated card, many layers, textures
and sewing, I was able to post it cheaply.
Sunrise is always my fave time of day:
Recently I showed photos of this railed off oak tree in
the grounds of the Diakonie, with inscriptions,
and the date March 22nd 1887, and I didn't know
why this was special - now I do! It was planted to
celebrate the 90th birthday of the Prussian Emperor
William I.
Some photos from my morning walks to the clinic - enjoy:
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
So true, so true. Very bold piece.
ReplyDeleteLove your gorgeous Mona, and the tag is wonderful - I should know, it was sent to me, thanks so much, and it is even more beautiful in real life. Wonderful photos as always. We need to go to the dentist again, s is getting a brace on her teeth. Have a nice day, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteValerie I just adore your Da Vinci Art and the words are so true. Your tag is so lush with wonderful details. Wow spring is really sprung on your side. We are heading to late autumn and early winter here in Johannesburg.

A beautiful Mona Lisa page - gorgeous - thanks a lot for joining Moo Mania & More! The flat tag is as beautiful as the multi layered ones are. Great photos and impressions of your morning walks. Happy weekend ´, Susi
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mona page and a wonderful stamp with so few marks but such a great likeness.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag and a great idea to make them thin enough to be the cheaper postage.
Amazing photographs and thank you for finding out why the tree was planted. It had to be special and now we know why.
The other photographs of the sunrise and wonderful flowers are such happy reminders that summer is on the way. No lilac or bluebells here yet but do have white bells in the garden and the same clematis that is around the door in your photograph. Thank you for sharing them
Love Chrissie xx
Beautiful page and gorgeous pics. Have a great weekend.xx
ReplyDeleteLove your art today. The Mona page in wonderful, and your tag is so creative. There is another type of person, too. He who does not want to see; none are as blind.

I so envy your walks Valerie -- you do get to pay tribute to so much of history. Your photos are always fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote on your journal page. I am getting ready to post my journal and I had a hard time writing in it - any suggestions as what to use especially on top of paints?
Your tag is absolutely gorgeous Valerie - I am pea green with envy over your talent! You are just going to have to write this tag as a tutorial -- gobs of glory for sure.
All the pictures are really wonderful!

What a striking Mona! Awesome mixed media tag, lots of layers and colors!!
ReplyDeleteI always make sure I have a cup of coffee when I visit you and then slowly enjoy my walk with you. This time it was blooming!!!!!!!!!!! thanks!!
Mona looks so good on that pink background. She really POPS!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm really partial to your tags, and they are definitely mailable if you keep them flat, like you did the stenciled rose.
I can almost smell the lilacs and feel the iris in your photos. Of course, the magnolia was precious, too. So glad you found out about that tree. I can see why it is cordoned off. It's actually older than I feel today.
I think both these projects turned out really well. Love the pictures of the pink clematis just so beautiful. Happy Weekend. Emma x
ReplyDeleteYour Mona Lisa is lovely, I hadn't heard that quote before. The tag is also gorgeous, I love your tags! I'm glad to learn about the tree, it's interesting to know.
Sabine
I love how the dots in the background continue on in her dress. Wonderful work! Happy PPF :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely art page and gorgeous tag, Valerie. hugs, Teresa

ReplyDeleteYour tag is beautiful and layers in my book are always great!! I know what you mean about postage- why ever they need to charge so much is beyond me- how do they expect us to be able to share with our sisters around the world?? heehee
