Hi Everybody!
Lots going on today, so I'll get started straightaway:
Today we are beginning a new challenge at TIOT - autumn colours/ leaves.
Projects of all formats are allowed, and you have 2 weeks, as always, to link your autumnal themes to us - looking forward to seeing you there!
I made a mixed media A3 page. I drew the face on the gessoed page and coloured it with water colours and metallic paints. The birds were stenciled with Dina Wakley's stencil. The quote is from John Donne.
I am also linking to 49 faces and to Art Journal Journey, through my window, and to Kim Dellow's Show your face..

At Tag Tuesday our theme this week is Nature's Bounty, so I made a tag in autumn colours, with gold embossed leaves on a painted and stenciled background. I added a mix of dried seed pods, glass beads, buttons etc as embellishments, and some fibres as tie. I stitched it to a backing of corrugated cardboard.
Today is also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so welcome to all the gang. I baked a bread pudding this afternoon, using left over whole wheat bread, raisins and prunes soaked in Brandy (to disinfect them!), ground nuts, lots of mixed spices, brown sugar and cinnamon. I sprinkled some roasted sesame seeds on top to make it nice and crunchy. I have a visitor coming Tuesday afternoon, so I have to keep my fingers off it till then! But you are welcome to try it! This is something I often make in Autumn and winter, as it tastes good hot or cold, and is also delicious with vanilla sauce or ice-cream!
My drink is Coffee Latte today, I made it extra to share with you!
The pigeons were all sitting in the tree this morning waiting for breakfast:
I saw this huge sunflower in the grouds of the hospital, next to the house from the 12th century:
And I nearly had a photo of a kingfisher, but he flew before I could press the shutter - but the stream is still nice!
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Oh my gosh, I love everything. And now after looking at the pictures, I'm hungry:) And the coffee latte was delicious. Thanks for sharing. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteI feel like Sandra -- everything is gorgeous. Love your page, adore you tag (over the top), your pudding made me droooool, and of course enjoyed our walk. I can't understand why I'm not getting in shape when I walk with you every day. A mystery. If your pudding is missing in the morning, you'll know where it is. Have an amazing day, Valeria. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteLovely work for the themes, enjoying your fall colours in your works. That bread pudding looks amazing Valerie, you are such a good baker and a latte maker too. Gorgeous photos as well.
ReplyDeleteLove all the work you made today, great art and the bread pudding and coffee - just YUMMY! Hugs, Sarah

That is a gorgeous drawing and thanks for the Latte, I take tea white with one sugar.
ReplyDeleteYummy treat for your guest Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThe page is amazing with the very beautiful face and the amazing little leaf shapes. Best of all the line from the John Donne poem which fits so well with the images.
Wonderful tag with so much of nature's bounty on it and the wonderful autumn colours.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Your Autumnal face is very beautiful, as is your tag. I also like your bread and coffee and would love to share with you. The sunflower is a fine size! There is a local competition here each year, for the children, to see who can grow the tallest sunflower; the winner gets there photo in the local paper. :D
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day :D
Oh what an enjoyable post! I love your autumn face! Beautiful! And the tag too in autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks yummy. It's the sort of thing I'd make. Thanks for sharing that. I'll have mine with custard please. And perhaps you could make me a moka as it looks like you have a coffee machine to make these lovely coffees.
I enjoyed looking at the photos in your town. The little stream is beautiful. As is the sun flower by the wall.
Have a good Tuesday,
Lisca#8
Yup, you have a lot going on. Love the face. She is a woodland nymph of the season for sure. And today is national coffee day-or so they just told me on the morning news, so your latte photos are just perfect.Yup, yummy looking baking...bread pudding tastes so good on cooler days. Now I want some. Yum. Have a great visit with your friend today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the infor, I must drink lots of coffee today to celebrate the event!
DeleteYour lady is lovely. I'm so used to seeing a green eyed beauty, this autumnal lass with the brown eyes was quite different.
ReplyDeleteYour tag blew me away. There was so much detail and the close-up of the gold splashed leaf showed how detailed you made this tag. It's really, really lovely, and I spent a lot of time looking at all the details including the cardboard, which is always a fun addition.
I also read it's International Coffee Day, but it was too late to use it when I posted. I must remember Sept 29, because it's free coffee at lots of places, but I suspect mostly in the US. Your latte looks like how I drink my coffee.
The bread pudding has me wishing I had made something like that for my guests. It looks lovely, and sounds even better.
It seems LOTS of us have posted photos of sunflowers today, whether on their table or in the ground. Yours is lovely.
Thanks for sharing your lovely lady, that over-the-top tag, and the latte and bread pudding with us for T this Tuesday. I'm ready to have a slice, if there is any left after your friend leaves.
I wish we got free coffee here today - nothing like that round here, but I keep myself well supplied here at home!
Deletebeautiful portrait with wonderful autumn mane! Your tag is stunning Valerie! Your treat and latte are perfect for a fall day and a walk along the stream.
ReplyDeleteAt this point you know how much I love Autumn, and seeing your beautiful lady and gorgeous tag were a bonus for me before I set off on my trip! Be well, my friend, and we will catch up on my return. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous selection of art projects, photos and edibles. Good job I have just finished lunch or I would be helping myself to some of the delicious pudding. Enjoy your afternoon with your visitor.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx
I love the face you drew and her lovely hair of leaves! Such a great autumn piece as is that gorgeous tag! You made me so hungry with that delicious bread pudding and I am so glad you soaked the prunes in brandy for a good disinfection! LOL! Enjoy the day and your company!
ReplyDeleteI love your Autumn colors. And that sunflower! Happy T (must be for coffee) Day ;)
ReplyDeleteWow you are so busy. I am thinking about joining in on a challenge. Will have to find one that is just starting. Love your art as always. Would love to join you in a cup of coffee.

ReplyDeleteI bet you are a real good cook and your coffee looks absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour lady is beautiful and autumn colors just have to be my favorite - always beautiful. For that matter, your tag is pretty fantastic too!
Why is that opening at the hospital bricked in - what did it used to be?
Grey day here today - we have had a lot of rain this last month especially. Much more than is normal.
See ya later gator!
Sandy xx
It used to be a window which they bricked in for some reason! Why? Your guess is as good as mine!
DeleteLove all the images in this post!! Your beautiful fall lady is stunning, and the tag you made is so luscious with all the layers! Your bread pudding looks yummy...but quite different than what I usually make. My recipe is definitely more on the 'pudding' side, while yours looks more like a bread! Happy T day...♥
