Hi Everybody!
It's weekend, enjoy!
For Art Journal Journey, through my window; our private challenge 49 Faces, and for Kim Dellow's Friday Face Art I made another journal page. I drew the face using a blue fine liner and did the shading with water colour. I stamped the bubbles (from Ryn Tanaka) onto the 'window' using tumbled glass DI. I wrote the little verse for it, 'Sitting by the window, watching drops of rain, watching them run downwards, on the window-pane'
At the moment I am enjoying using monochrome colours and keeping things a bit simple.
This was just with reversed colours, I like how the colour change changes the whole feeling of the picture.
I woke up very early again this morning, when it was still dark, and saw the morning star shining bright between the 'V' in he middle of the branches:
And some more windows from my little town:
Enjoy the view from your window!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
The reverse looks so different from the blue! I think I like the blue better; she looks less harsh in the blue. You really got the eyes perfect too! And loved looking at your windows! So many different styles! Hope your enjoying your Saturday!
ReplyDeleteYour town has the most interesting windows. That's a nice page, the colour change does make so much of a difference.
ReplyDeleteFor such a small town (your words), you have an excessive amount of beautiful and unique windows. That star certainly shines bright right now.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of the drawing, and I like the color reverse, too. I actually prefer the eyes in the original blue version better, though. Those eyes really grab me every time! You do eyes better than anyone I know.
We are lucky that so many ancient houses survived all the ravages of time and wars etc.
DeleteLove your face at the window, and the photos. Beautiful work, as always, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteTerrific to see the star shaining so brightly Valerie. It is thick cloud and drizzle here so we can'r even see the sky. Great photographs of the windows again as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the strong face with the beautiful lips. Great use of the Ryn stamp as well.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx

Two awesome versions of today's beautiful lady, she has such a wistful look, perhaps waiting for the rain to go. Super photos, love the one inside the church with the lovely stained glass.

Your lady's face is beautiful. I am awe struck by the angle you have created (is that supposed to be perspective I mean?), anyway it's amazing. You are such a fantastic artist in all medias.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I love the windows. Have a good day {{Hugs}}
I have no idea of perspective, I just use trial and error!
DeleteSitting by the window is a gorgeous work Valerie. Love the morning star you captured between the V of the tree. Love seeing the windows around your town.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work of art, so interesting is that face, colours are awesome..

No rain here, but I like to look out the window at the rain too and wander away. xox
DeleteGreat page Valerie, loved the colour change.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos from today's walk, must admit I do find window very interesting.

I also like the blue version a little better because she looks happier. You are so lucky to live in an area with such rich history--and I know you appreciate it! The windows you shows are gorgeous. I hope you wished on the beautiful morning star!
ReplyDeleteI definitely did!
DeleteWhat a lovely blue face and the raindrops are lovely as well! Beautiful photographs as well, such wonderful windows!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie, I'm sitting by the window today watching the rain. Your journal page works for me as well. Yesterday it was beautiful, not too warm, and then the cold front moved in. More lovely photos of your 'little town.' Thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
Your photographs of the star are astonishing, I didn't know you could do that, the blue sky and the dark trees with the star make a perfect photo.
ReplyDeleteYour blue painting turned out so well, just using the lights and darks in an ingenious way. The invert does give a different mood and quite a different picture.
Another super page! Love both versions, but the blue face is fabulous. Great photos too.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Mar
Great face and fabulous page, Valerie! I can't believe I went on a bit of a vacation and hardly took any photos, but did have a great time! Love your photos! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFabulous page. I love those bubbles. Brilliant!
