Hi Everybody!
It's weekend - enjoy it!
For Art Journal Journey I have another A3 page for our masculine-feminine challenge. This was made from half of the underlay sheet on my table. I always try out stamps, colours, stencils etc on it, and thought it was a shame to throw it away. I gave it a thin coat of gesso, then used black paint applied with a sponge for the Dina Wakley moon face stencils. I used some scraps to make them some pink accessories. I was thinking about some of the sayings we used to get told as kids - 'Pink to make the boys wink', 'pink for a little girl and blue for a boy' etc. and used a stencil (sent to me by Teresa - thanks Sweetie) and pink India ink for the quote.
This is another of the quick sketches made in the ice parlour this week - this is the waiter, a friendly and smiley chap who always seems to be in a good mood. I am linking to Kim Dellow's Friday face art:

What a great sketch and love the pink girls, they remind me of the Pink Ladies from Grease. Will be dropping in less often over the next 4 weeks as we're off to Australia (yippee!) to visit my brother. he lives in Brisbane but we're also going to Sydney with a stopover in Singapore and then KL on the way back, so it's a bit of a trip of a lifetime. Have a great July, keep creating and take care. Xx

ReplyDeleteYour pink girls are just adorable--great way to use your "test" sheet. With blue eyes like that waiter, I fear I would be eating way too much ice cream! I always enjoy my walks with you--the flowers by the river look like they are barely holding on.

Your pink is for girls piece reminds me of little fairies fluttering about. Kind of the season for them too I would think. Great sketch of the waiter. You captured the emotion of someone who enjoys working at an ice cream parlor. And maybe those trees will show up on AJJ before the month is over? Have a great day.

DeleteYour Feminine page is great and I love those face stencils... great idea to use the waster paper too. The waiter looks like a jolly sort indeed and probably makes the meal more enjoyable :) I love the wildflowers :) But then I"m sure you knew I would LOL! I need to find some seeds for the Red Poppies too. I know I have them here somewhere :) Have a great weekend and I'll get back to packing up the bathroom.
